I Heart Sausage! and Wifi.....

I have taken it upon myself recently to test my temptation resistance factor (TRF). I go into stores and bakeries etc... and look at all the things I could and would eat if I had the metabolism of a fruit fly. Today I scored a quiet victory for myself, first I made it through a trip to Rudy's Bakery in Roscoe Village and then I went to the Taste of Chicago during lunch with my camera in hand taking pictures of things I might like to eat. I am happy to report I did not eat a thing! I must admit It is a lot easier to not eat when you're poor...

This is the sausage I would have eaten

This is a skewered shrimp thingy... it smelled really good

This is a picture of a cow, it's not a real cow though...

When I got home tonight I found that I once again have wifi (yippee!). My big plans this weekend are 1. To weigh in tomorrow at Weight Watchers. 2. Possibly search for a new pair of flip flops. 3. Sleep a bit. Other than that my datebook is wide open. Oh, I might color my hair again... it's looking a bit like Meryl Streeps hair in the Devil Wears Prada....

Senza WiFi

This morning I find that my wifi is gone (sob). It's there, but I won't let me use it. I guess I may have to break down sometime and get a faster connection... maybe I'll just go to the library... This weekend I promise to post something more interesting.

Last night we watched Amelie instead of Bladerunner. I liked it very much - four stars.

New Link

I have added a link for Karolina's Hidey-Hole. You should check it out. Today is going to be another long day, We are going to be sketching this morning and learning auto-cad this afternoon. (All things are subject to change). Then tonight we are watching Bladerunner.

On another note, I can't wait to see what happens with Star Jones and Barbara Walters, they just had a teaser on Today that the gloves are off! Yippee! I better focus on coffee right now.

Lord, I am SO Tired.

Last night I was out like a light and this morning I don't want to move. I may have to over caffinate myself this morning. Today in class we are going to Federal Plaza to draw, it was designed by Mies van der Rohe and there is a Calder sculpture out front. Maybe I'll take some photos to post later.

Sky Shots...

I took these tonight on the platform at Belmont.

Tonight's workshop went alright. They worked on chair models and we went on a trip to Karolina's studio to look at good cardboard craftswomanship.

Long Day

I'm laying here in bed, wearing nothing but a t-shirt... oh wait, that's my alter ego talking there... Heh heh heh. I really am in bed as I post. Today in class we are going to draw in the morning and then this afternoon they are making chairs out of cardboard. Then this evening we are having a workshop which I have to run. Really it's just going to be time for them to work on their stuff. I'm not particularly looking forward to staying out all day - but this is what I signed up for... It's only two nights a week.

Maybe having my coffee will pick me up... I better get vertical now or I'm never going to.

Wrigley Field

I took this photo a few days ago from the Addison stop on the Red Line. I llike it.

Once again I am exhausted. I have another job. I am going to be a Weight Watchers Receptionist. I hope I'm not filling my plate too full...(ha! get the food reference???) I think I do better though when I have a bunch to do. I'm not very good with down time.

I feel potential typos coming on, I better go.

I currently have 999 hits to my blog. Could you be 1,000? If you are let me know and I may send you a prize of some sort.

Today I was on my way to Target when I decided to stop by a Weight Watchers meeting. It was a leader I'm not familiar with, her name is Dara. She has the patience of a saint (enough said). When I was done I met up with Karolina and we went up to Starbucks. I haven't seen her or Andrew in over a week which is strange. She rented a new apartment the other day... it sounds really nice. After Starbucks I went to Target and bought some frozen meals to take for lunch while I'm working. I also walked around the area where they are starting a new Weight Watchers Meeting. If they decide to hire me I might work up there. I walked past California Field where they have wheelchair softball... It was over so I didn't watch, but it might be fun sometime.

On the way home I walked down Broadway, they were cleaning up from the Pride Parade. It smelled like bar after a long night of excess I'm glad I didn't stick around for it.

Nicole, Keith, Tom and Katie

A hearty congratulations goes out to Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban who tied the knot today Down Under (that's Australia if you don't know). Her relationship is a 180 degree turn from her exes...You actually hope that things will work out for her, while we're waiting for the Tomkat fiasco to blow up any day.

Today is the Pride Parade, I've never been to one... it might be an opportunity to look at cute boys - although completely unavailable cute boys... I may give it a try. I start TAing for my Interior Architecture class tomorrow. I should probably get some grocery shopping done so I can have my menu planned out so I don't fall off the wagon. I have to weigh in on Saturday.

The informational meeting I went to yesterday seemed to go pretty well. I had an interview - I think my personality shown through (it usually does). I'll find out Monday evening what's the next step in obtaining my third job.

Relevant Rant

I posted an entry on my other blog which I believe would fit quite nicely here, click on the link if you wish It Hurts to be Horizontal It's titled "So" posted on June 22nd. It turns into a bit of a rant.

Possible Titles for Today's Post....

I Heart Oak Park

Best Day In A Long Time

Man Mumbles Unintelligible Remark (I think it was a compliment).

Who Comes Up With This Stuff?

THIS LOOKS YUMMY! What in the hell are people thinking? Do they actually think someone will make this for company?

It's Been a Long Week

I didn't realize it until it was over but am worn out from working all week. Not that I mind, it's better than having too much free time on my hands. I'd tell you more, but I keep making typos so I better go.

I Should Know Better

Than to eat bridge mix and carmels for dinner. I'm not feeling too bad, but I should know better - I need to get out tonight and buy vegetables so I have something good to eat around here.

Last night I called my mother on the phone and my nephew Max Elvis was over at the house. In the background he called out my name so I got to talk to him. He said he was eating strawberries, I asked how many he had eaten and he said "too many". It will be nice to see him and Leo when I go home in 37 days!

Andy Avalos says it's only going to get up to 76 today... Today I get to meet with Lydia from the Early College Program and get the roster for next weeks class. I'm feeling pretty good about it. Although I have no experience with Interior Architecture I think I can handle it.

I Need To Get Me Some....

No, I haven't been drinking... I just need to get me some affection sometime soon or I may eat my way through Chicago. ENOUGH SAID.

Potential House Guests

Last night I watched Big Brother and saw who the Potential House Guests were.

There are going to be twelve house guests and America gets to decide six of them - my question is how are the other six picked? If you are all interested in voting I would like to see any of the following people in the house. Chicken George, Bunky, Marcellas, Lisa, Cowboy, Nakomis, Howie, Kaysar and Janelle.

The only person I would hate to see in the house would be Alison.

I'll have to figure out who my dream team would be.... Realistically, if everyone got along it wouldn't be very interesting.

Big Brother Returns Tonight...

Once again I have something to live for. Big Brother All Stars... I am sooo excited. I can't wait to see who I get to vote for. From what I can tell there will be a selection of former houseguests that we get to vote into the Big Brother House. I hope they have some people from the first season when it was less internal struggle and more fan popularity contest (maybe Britney or George will be choices!)

Maybe I'll apply to be on it next year once I've graduated.

I Heart Humidity

If you think I'm serious, I'm not. I'm sitting here trying to wake up and I feel like I've got a wet washcloth draped over my body. It could be worse.. I could be sweating profusely as opposed to only mildly. Today in class the students are finishing up their wire sculptures and then we are going to the Museum. It will be nice to get out a bit.

Andy Avalos the weather guy says it's going to be hazy, hot and humid, blech...

Day Two / Dead Rat, Broken Glass

Okay, the second day went better, not that the first day went poorly. When I got home I went to a Weight Watchers meeting and on my way back I saw a dead (squished) rat laying beside some broken automobile glass in the street. Hmm... I'm sure there's a story there somewhere.

I also came to the conclusion that it was more important for me to buy coffee than buy extraneous food the next two days. Those of you who have seen me with no caffeine will attest to that. I now officially have 57 cents in my checking account. So much for that Doctor bill.

iCard from Karolina

Karolina sent me this nice card. I'm glad she's my friend.

Interpretive Sign Language Dancing!

As I was walking home from my first day of work I came upon these sign language interpretive dancers. They were signing up a storm at the John Hancock Building (by the Cheesecake Factory).

TA ing went well...For the most part I just stood around and helped out. Tomorrow I get to show pictures of my own work.

At lunch time I got a call from Jamielee the Tour Guide Coordinator... I guess nobody got a replacement for me (although I told them a few months ago that I wouldn't be giving tours...), so I ended up giving an abbreviated Grad Tour... and I'll get paid for it too! I can always use more money.

Here's one reason I can use more money... Back in February I had a raised blemish on my chest cut off and tested to see if it was pre-cancerous (it wasn't). They sent me a bill (which insurance had paid part of..) and I paid the balance. Well, it turns out that there were some more charges that were not I owe $136.94. Now do I have that kind of money laying around? NO! So, if there's anyone around there who wants to send me a few bucks feel free. I have a Paypal Account if you prefer to send me cash that way.

Tonight is a new episode of How to Get the Guy, I'm looking forward to it.

Back on Track Today.

Hopefully my busy-ness will translate into less overeating on my part. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I guess I don't have much more to say... I have to finish my coffee and get ready to go. I don't want to be late on my first day of work.

Last Night of Freedom.

Tomorrow I start my employment as a TA. I'm looking forward to finally getting some experience teaching (although I don't know how much I'll actually get to do...).

Today I did some walking and I went to the Gap and bought myself a halter style top. I'll wait to post a picture until my belly is a little less flabby.

I succumbed to some potato chips and dip at Jewel-Osco. I think the guy at the self check out winked at me but I can't be sure. He's kind of cute... but I don't want this to turn out like the whole obsession with Tony the Cute Checkout boy from Safeway. (boy was he a cutie patootie!). Tonight I am watching Treasure Hunters and Blade Runner. I'll post tomorrow morning before I go to work.

Who's Your Daddy!

This is a picture of my dad when he was younger. In honor of Father's Day I thought I say a few good things about my dad. Well, he was a librarian and always took time to read to us when we were little. We also went on many a family vacation with him. I saw most of the National Parks in the west by the time I was 12. It's too bad I didn't appreciate those things then as much as I do now.

It's Hotter Than a Dog on Fire.

Well, I suppose it could be hotter. Today I did the following; I finished a book - it only took me three weeks. I went to Let's Pet Puppies and pet some puppies - the Jack Russell's were very cute, as were the Puggles, Beagles, Schnauzer and Chihuauas. Then I walked around a while and then came home. I took a nap on the futon for an hour and a half and now I'm just hanging out. I think I may go down to Wallgreen's and get something cold to drink.

I've been thinking again (as always) about what I want to do with my life. I was looking at Artist In Residency Programs at the National Parks. That would be fun. I once wanted to be a Park Ranger, I still may do it.

My friend Kristen just emailed me... She says I have a nice ass. That's a sweet thing for her to say.

Well, I guess I'll go now. Maybe I'll have some good dreams tonight.

Crankiness is a Virtue

I'm feeling a bit cranky (sad?) this morning. Maybe it's hormones - maybe it's just the constant nagging in my brain that my life is slipping by and I'm unsure what my life's purpose is. Maybe I'm just full of crap.

Things I wish I could change in my life. I wish I was a stronger speller. I wish depression didn't come so easily. I wish I didn't like to eat food so much. I wish my neighbors wouldn't scream at the top of their lungs in a foreign language (maybe they're watching soccer?). I wish I didn't care about certain people so much. I wish I didn't have to worry about finances. I wish I didn't have such crappy feet. They're cute and all but It's hard to have cute feet when you need to wear orthotics and supportive shoes (oh the inhumanity).

On the bright side.. yes, there is one. The other day someone told me that I was petite or "little" I think was the word they used. It's nice to be called that. Not that there's anything wrong with having some meat on your bones... Next weekend I am going to a Weight Watchers orientation meeting to find out about employment opportunities. It is going to be held in Oak Park - I've never been there. It's where Frank Lloyd Wright lived and worked before(while) he fell for that married woman and they had to move to Europe.

This is a picture I took of rust and shadows the other day. I guess that's a good enough description.

Opening was a Grass...

These are some pictures from last night's opening. It was good to get out and see my people. Tonight there is going to be a party... Am I up for it? Probably...

Last night I wore a pair of shoes that I hadn't worn ever. I ripped up the back of my heel. Ouch - It was nice and bloody when I got home.

I'd try to be more scintillating but I haven't had enough coffee yet.

Full Plate

Today on my list of things to do. Get dressed. Go to an opening of my friend Jeroen. He has been growing grass in astroturf. I'll try to take pictures and post them tomorrow. Other than that there's not much going on. I am a bit bummed that I won't be able to watch Matt Lauer's interview with Britney Spears on Dateline tonight being that it's the same time as the opening.

Yesterday I walked past PAWS with Karolina and we saw a three legged cat through the windows. It was the cutest kitty cat ever (sorry Tooter). I really miss having my dog around.... however, there is a store on Ashland called "Let's Pet Puppies". I walked past it the other day but it was closed. Maybe I'll swing by today and pet me some!

Melissa sent me this picture of Leo yesterday. He's almost as cute as the three legged cat. I guess you can't really compare because one's a little boy and one's a cat.

I Heart Wieners!

Karolina sent me this picture of a wiener dog. How cute is that? Right now I am watching a combo of So You Think You Can Dance and AFI's 100 Most Inspirational Films.

What films would I consider inspirational? Pee Wee's Big Adventure - A boy in search of his bike and finding it! Ishtar - Two musicians singing their hearts out in a foreign land... The Cutting Edge - Prima donna ice princess meets one eyed hockey player and they fall in love and win the Olympics... (You all know how I love skating costumes...) I get all veklempt thinking of all the great inspirational movies... I better go - I need a hanky.

To Do Today...

1. Walk to school with Karolina.
2. Smile at three boys.
3. Shower.
4. Go to Museum and do number 2 on list.

This is a photo of a church down the street from my apartment.

As Requested, My Ass in Jeans

So... I went to Target today and took pictures of my ass in jeans... It's not too bad, if I do say so myself... Considering what my ass used to look like.

I'll update more later - bye.

This morning on Today there is a segment on being a Manny. That's the male version of a Nanny... I have a friend who is a Manny for Annie Potts (from Ghostbusters and Designing Women fame). If I was a boy I might be a Manny.

Last night I watched How to Get the Guy and I did take notes. I can definintely relate to Anne She is "The Girl Next Door". Last night they taught her how to drop the hanky (that is let guys know you're interested). The way you do this is 1. Make eye contact (four seconds) 2. Smile 3. Invade their personal space. I actually have been practicing smiling at boys, an old co-worker of mine once told me I should smile at three boys every day. She was right - I have started doing this on a regular basis. Maybe today I'll go out and try the eye contact and invasion of personal space. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm currently sitting on my futon trying to keep myself from hoovering out the refrigerator and cupboards. I am not hungry, but I am feeling a need to make myself feel better. They (the Weight Watchers people) tell us to ask ourselves the following questions which make up a lovely acronym H.A.L.T.

Am I hungry? (no I'm not.) Am I Angry? (no, I don't think so.) Am I lonely? (I can definitely answer yes to that question....) Am I tired? (sort of...). Well, what can I do to make myself feel better... I guess I could go to meeting, there's one at 7:00. I could take a walk... I could get drunk... No that won't work. It will pass soon enough. I didn't spend any time walking today (except for giving the tour...).

Next week I will start TA ing so things will pick up and I won't have time to think about my life.

Tonight on ABC there's the premier of How to Get a Guy. I think I'll watch it and take some notes...

I woke up this morning and I feel like I've been hit with a truck. I should try to curtail my drinking and dancing... You know sort of like Footloose when they didn't let the kids dance because it led to nothing but bad news. Okay, maybe that's not a good analogy but it's the best I can come up with right now.

I slept in this morning until 8:20, starting next week I'm working so I have to sleep while I can.

On the Today Show right now they are having a fashion show for short men. Hubba Hubba! Also, Campbell Brown is Co Anchoring and Ann is back at the news desk... What the??? Maybe they don't want people to get used to Ann at the anchor spot, so that when Meredith takes over in September there won't be an uprising of the viewing public. That's my theory anyway...

Sunday, June 11, 2006

That means thank you in Hawaii. I had a good time at the luau last night and now I am officially on the wagon (at least until next Friday..). Here are some pictures. The top photo is the hostess with the mostess and her guest enjoying some food. Next is a closeup of Karolina and then there's Maria complete with oversized sunglasses, shotglass on a chain and lei! I did "the worm" at one point and there's video of that, but I can't put it here... (I might be able to but I don't know how.) People are usually impressed that an old broad like me has dance moves like that.

Today if I get up off the futon I might go to the ultimate frisbee game... it's a bit cold though so I doubt it. I'm still a bit fuzzy too so I might not be at the best of my abilities. If I can get some dishes and some laundry done I will consider the day a success.

Body Issues....

Being a formerly fat person I am noticing areas of my body that are sagging and unsightly. For those of you who regularly peruse my blog you may recall that I posted a picture of myself in a bikini in the K-Mart dressing room. If you care to go back and take a look it's fine with me (I'm trying to learn to love my body).

This afternoon I was laying on the futon and noticed that although I have some good looking muscles in my abdomen there is a bunch o skin that is saggy, floppy and lays on top of it like a dead jellyfish (not to mention the faded stretch marks)... now if I could lay on my back all the time no one would ever be the wiser but it might be hard to get around being horizontal.

Another thing I've noticed is that ever since I had Lasik Eye surgery I can no longer focus on my armpits when I try to shave them, there's also the fact that the areas of where my hair grows is in different places since I had mamoplasty (breast reduction... and no, I'm not going to post pictures of my boobs on my blog - I have SOME boundaries.)

I guess that's it... now I have to get ready to do the hula at the luau!

Luau Tonight!

Tonight is Karolina's Birthday Party Luau, and starting tomorrow I'm back on the wagon, so I have to live it up while I can.
I always say that I am going to take a nap before I go out and today I WILL!

Last night I was just settling down in front of the television to watch some shows and Karolina called me.. we ended up walking down to school so she could pick up two fasteners. It was a good walk. I found 51 cents on the way there... I take all the money I find when I walk and put it in a bowl. I'm hoping to save up enough money for that tummy tuck. Maybe today I'll count up what I have so far.

It's raining this morning, it reminds me of home. I've been making lot's of plans for while I'm home... There's people to see things to do. I can't wait to see Tucker (and the rest of my family as well).

Friday, June 09, 2006

This is my sister's cat Tooter. Her real name is Cleo but she has a problem with gas so she is called Tooter. This is a picture of her relaxing on the new rug in Pepe's room (my niece to be...)

Today I went to Karolina's house and hung out and then I went to school to give a tour. The rest of the afternoon is a blur. I think I might nap a bit. I have to gain my strength for tomorrow night's luau.

This morning I picked up my newspaper and I put it on my futon and there it was - a cockroach. Ewww I grabbed it with my bare hands (that bugger was fast) and threw it out the back door down the fire escape. Now I'm all wierded out. It reminds me of Creepshow. Hopefully it just came in with the newspaper....

I've done too much today...

To account for right now...
The Highlights today are going to the Chicago Blues Festival and going into the Levi Straus Intellifit Pit and having myself scanned for my perfect fit jeans. I went to Target and tried them on (the ones they told me would fit) and they actually fit perfectly. I have a nice ass! Then I made some phonecalls and set up appointments for when I'm home in August. I'm looking forward to going home.

I guess that's it for today. I'll check in tomorrow.

I just can't wait!

These are a few of the photos I took today, I couldn't wait to post them. I spent a good amount of time in the Lurie Gardens and took some nice photos there as well. The fog rolling in was a really nice touch... (was it fog or low clouds???).

Ch ch ch ch changes....

So this morning I got a call from Lydia who is in charge of the Early College Program. She said that the three week sculpture class I was going to TA for was canceled because of low enrolment. However, I could TA for the Interior Architecture class. What do I know about Interior Architecture you might ask?? Well, nothing! But I'm going to do it anyway. I'm excited and scared all at the same time.

Tomorrow I get paid! Officially payday is Friday, but since I have direct deposit it goes in the day before. I am impressed with myself though.. I still have seven dollars cash left and 1.80 in my checking account as well.

I took a lot of pictures today at Millennium Park, I'll post some tomorrow.

I love you all!

Wednesday Is For Lovers.

The last two nights I have had dreams about boys (actually the same boy). I can't go into to many details but in last nights dream I was in the boys house when I shouldn't have been and then I was trying not to get caught... Any dream analyzers out there?

I remember when I first moved to Chicago I was an emotional wreck. I couldn't sleep let alone dream. I was taking melatonin to help and it seemed to work for the sleep problem but I didn't dream at all. When I finally settled down and stopped taking the melatonin I had a dream it was about a boy. I must like dreaming about them.

Tonight I have a meeting for the Early College Program. I hopefully will get to meet the faculty I get to work with this summer. Once I start working I probably won't be able to post as often as I have been.

I'm An Artist!

I just have to keep telling myself that sometimes. Today I went to the MCA and saw the Chris Ware and Wolfgang Tillmans shows. I like Chris Ware's work... but it requires reading which is not so easy... Wolfgang on the other hand was alright, but does he really warrant the whole first floor? I'm no critic, but I could have just seen half of the work and been fine. I must say however I do like to look at a boys pee pee every once in a while and I did get to do that. Once piece I did like was called Inner City Apple Tree, it followed a tree through the seasons from blossom to bearing fruit, to the losing of its leaves. It was poetic.

On my other blogmy friend Matt is making my life more interesting. You should check it out.

I took this the other day, it's a synagogue (temple?) near my apartment.

I've Been Thinking...

About what to do today. It's supposed to be warm but there could be thunderstorms so if I want to get out I should do it early.

Yesterday at the Library I picked up two DVD's one is called Little Otik, it's about a childless couple that take a tree stump and make it their baby. A BABY WITH TENDENCIES TOWARDS CANNIBALISM! I'm looking forward to it. Maybe I'll go out and find myself my very own stump. I also picked up Hurly Burly, it has Sean Penn and Garry Shandling in it...

I'm still working on Still Life With Woodpecker. I like it, I just wish I could focus for long periods of time reading. The problem is my mind starts to wander and then it starts to multi-task and I forget what I've been reading.

Maybe I'll go out and take more photo's today and post them for you all to see.

Road Trip to Wisconsin

The other day Karolina sent me a picture from our trip to Wisconsin. That's me sitting in the back seat of the car in between Jeroen and Jefferson. It was a little cramped in the back seat and the trip was just beginning. Jefferson throws the best parties. I went over to his place for Easter dinner, we had Indian food and it was good.

My 200th Post

I guess I should make it memorable. Hmm.. I've been thinking about a lot of things I want to say but I can't without sounding like a complete loser.

I've been thinking about my life and what I do on a daily basis. It boils down to these three things. I walk around a lot. I think about eating all the time and I blog. Oh, and there's television. So I guess that's four basic things that I do... and there's also the coffee drinking in the morning.

When I walk around I think about all the grocery stores I know... where they are located, the prices on specific items I like to buy such as the Weight Watchers Lemon Snack Cakes. They cost $3.99 at Jewel (Albertson's), $3.59 at Dominick's (Safeway) and $2.99 at Target. If I walk around for an average of two hours I can earn 4 activity points and then eat the whole box of six for only two points. I realize that it's not the best thing for me to do, but hey, I've got to have an outlet somewhere.

I don't think about eating ALL the time, just most of the time. Today as I was walking I thought about my dog Tucker, my car which I miss horribly and boys. When I see babies I think about my biological clock slowly ticking its way down to zero. When I see couples I want to smack the hell out of them and sometimes I secretly hope they're miserable.

Today I also thought about allergies... my left nostril is very itchy and dry. I used to think it was a certain scent that made it all icky but now I'm pretty sure it's just the weather.

While I was on my walk I ran into my friend Maria... she was checking out an ultimate frisbee game. I sat and watched with her for a few minutes; there were a lot of good looking fellas playing - I might have to go back next week.

When I was done watching the game I had to stop by the LepreCan and relieve my bladder. I drink a lot of water while I walk as well.

I guess that's about it for the 200th post. Maybe I'll have something more interesting to tell you all tomorrow.

I'm Not That Interesting

After talking to many new people last night I have determined that I am not that interesting.

I suppose you could say I'm sort of strange. I make art out of garbage!?! People just think that's strange. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to pick up a new hobby so I have something more interesting to talk about next time.

On The Prowl in Chi-Town.

For those of you who know me, can you actually visualize me "on the prowl"? I didn't think so. Well, my first official Date and Dash singles event is history. There might be more... You never know.

The first picture is of Eric. He owns his own company (software I think) and he flies (pilots?) helicopters. The second picture is of my friend Maria and Kevin. Kevin is interested in photography... I would write more about him but he's supposed to check out my blog and I wouldn't want to get my information about him wrong. Maybe he will post a comment so you can all see what he has to say for himself.

The last photo is of the sign in the bathroom. All you guys out there this is what the women's restroom looks like. Not so interesting huh?

I'll post again tomorrow about my adventure but I'm tired and need to sleep.

Tonight's the Night.

I'm going to mingle with singles, meet some mates, shimmy some sugar... I don't exactly know what that means, it's open to interpretation.

This morning I weighed in and I was down a pound. I guess the no money diet works. I went to Stanley's to buy produce and then I walked home. I went past the place where they are having the event tonight. It looks like a hole in the wall, but I'm up for anything. I might take my camera with me so you can all see how much fun I had.

Now I am trying to watch Seabiscuit. Hmm, biscuits sound good right now. I should probably eat something before I gnaw off one of my hands.. then I wouldn't be able to type. I may have to also take a disco nap so I can stay out late tonight.

I watched Junebug tonight. It was really good. It's sort of a quiet film with heart. I really can't say much about it other than it was sweet.

Today my fabulous sister Hilary used some of her frequent flier miles to purchase me a ticket home the end of July so I can meet my new Niece (FKA Pepe). I get to come home for nine whole days! Oh the things I'll do: hang out with my dog! Drive my car! See my family and friends! Go to Spud! Watch Cable Television! Yippee!

Prom Anyone?

Karolina was looking for attire for her birthday party yesterday when I found this beautiful dress. The strange thing is that it fit. I didn't buy it because I don't have a dance to go to and I couldn't spare the cash.

Dinner On My Lap

As I was sitting down to eat my cup of sausage-laden soup this evening I thought to myself wouldn't it really suck if I got this all over my new white tank top. Guess what? The next thing I knew - my spoon was missing my mouth and I got it all over myself. I hate when I do that.

Pinch and a Punch.

Today is the first day of June. My family has this ritual that every first of the month we call each other and say "pinch and a punch for the first of the month". Whoever says it first wins. What do we win you might ask? Nothing - we just get the satisfaction of knowing we won for the month. If you are actually in the room with the person when you see them you can do the actually pinching and punching to them.

Last night I went into the loop to visit with my friend Janet. I went to the University of Washington with her. She is currently working for the company that runs (owns?) Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood Washington. I showed her my studio and took her to Millennium Park, she's just here through this afternoon so I won't get to see her again. It was nice to see a familiar face.

Yesterday it was actually a bit cooler, it was much easier to sleep last night.

I'm watching the Today Show right now and Ann Curry is sitting next to Matt Lauer. What a nice sight to see. I guess you could say I have a girl crush on her - there's nothing wrong with that.
