Hello Hotdogs!

Last night it was too nice to go to the gym so I decided to stay home, light up the barbie and take some photos...

I feel a little bad about not going to the gym, but it was too nice. The sun was out, birds were singing, kids playing... you know if this keeps up I'll have to be subjected to all that warm weather bad fashion that I love so much.

I got a response from the ActiveSpace people and I'm going to look at spaces next Monday. I'm pretty excited about it... I'm not excited about spending more money, but I do think it will be good for me to have a place to work.

I went to the dentist yesterday and have a beautiful temporary silver crown - it woke me up at 3 am though... I hope hope hope hope hope it doesn't get to the point where I need a root canal. I can't afford it!

Okay, one more thing. I've been asked to house sit again so that's good. It's for the "cats" you remember Sammy (the one on the roof) and Emma. It pays well - I'll be able to pay for my crown!

I think that's it this morning... I wish I could stay here but I can't. Must go to work.

Yikes!

Look what my mom found!

Nothing like a permed mullet and big earrings. Check out the nice watch band!

Boots.

The past few times I've been at the mall I have seen a bad selection of boots on the young people of America. I have to go out and take pictures because I can't find images of these horrendous atrocities to society.

Just imagine - cable knit, mid-calf hitting, beige flat boots with pom poms attached to strings.... maybe I'll draw a picture and scan it. I've also seen high heels with down fabric up to the knee.... oh man, I need to find photos.

Okay, back to my humdrum life... yesterday I picked up some photos I had mounted and unfortunately on the trip back to the office I dinged up the corners of some. I think I can camouflage the dings but it means that I can't really sell them. Not that I've ever sold anything... but there's always a first time.

Damn.

I need better luck.

Is it over yet?

I have survived my birthday.... I met some of my friends after work for happy hour at Palomino. It was fun but no boys showed up.... I've got to get me some single boy type friends.

I did take pictures but I can't track down the cord for my camera to get them off my camera... I promise some day I will get it all put together.

I did have a good time seeing all my friends.

Today I have to get my filing into shape before I leave so people can find things while I'm gone. I am being taken out to lunch to Oceanaire for my birthday today... Tomorrow it's off to Chicago.

I think it might be strange to actually be in Chicago and have money while I'm there. The first time I went to visit the school I had money but I didn't know anyplace to go or how to get there... I didn't even ride the el the first time I went. How lame is that?

Do you know what they do have in Chicago??? H&M - my favorite cheap store. It's like the Ikea of clothing... I hope I don't run out of time before I run out of things I want to do.

some photos...

It's been a while since I posted any photos so here is a selection from the past week.

This guy was at the airport in Newark. I was hoping that he would sit next to me on the airplane but no such luck.

These are his shoes (pretty nice!)

This is the view from my seat on the airplane. Sometimes I wish I could sit by the window, but considering I went to the bathroom eleven times during the flight it's sort of out of the question...

At Seatac Airport they have an Alasan Amber Lounge.... you know if it wasn't 10:45am and my mother wasn't waiting for me I would have been there!

This is Stinky - but you knew that. She gave me a Christmas card this morning.

Today I am having lunch with my old boss. I haven't seen her in almost two years - it will be nice. She's one of the best people I know.

I have a one day temp job next Wednesday. Someone is going to trust me answering their phones. It should be alright.... who's going to want to call their attorney on the day after Christmas anyway right? I'll just apologize in case I hang up on someone.

Since the holiday is fast approaching I was thinking that I should probably finish my Christmas shopping sometime soon.

I should go to bed now.

Considering I need to be up at 3ish I should go to bed now.

Today I weighed in (only up .8) wandered around, took the NBC Studio Tour (I used a coupon), did a bit of retail therapy and then went to dinner with Chad.

Here's some photos.

The next update should come from Seattle...

Problems...

I'm having problems uploading photos. I may have to do a double post on I heart Ann tomorrow. I took a lot of pictures today... mostly of the Backstreet boys I think. I couldn't even tell you all their names but I got some good pictures of them.

I was trying to think back if I had ever been that crazy about some group when I was growing up. I don't think so.... I was fond of Depeche Mode and Erasure.. even the B-52's but I don't think I would have ever screamed and yelled through a window at them... Rick Springfield maybe...

Tomorrow is my day to dress up... I bought some makeup at Duane Reade for 2 bucks. I hope I'm not allergic to it. It wouldn't be the first time...

Happy to report...

I have finished my bio and it is whisking it's way over the computer networks to where it needs to be.

Next on the agenda is to go and buy more coffee for the morning. I'm down to my last scoop and I don't think I'd be in a good situation tomorrow morning if I didn't have my full quota of caffeine.

The weather has officially changed to fall and I have had to break out the long underwear (it's some of my favorite)... I have more on the way (with my boots and winter coat) but it hasn't arrived yet. It's being sent to the studio which means I will have to go down there this week.

I like the studio, but the one think I learned in grad school is that I need to have a television near me while I'm working. I don't necessarily need to be interested in what's going on - it just needs to be on... I just don't want to spend time "working" without one around.

Since I've been posting photos here are some I took on the walk home over the Brooklyn Bridge yesterday and at Astor Place...

More.

On the agenda today is finishing my bio (I think I said I was going to do that yesterday but I didn't). I did get a good portion done but I'm just not feeling it. I am also going to have to break down and do laundry... maybe I'll take the laptop to the laundromat and work on the bio there. I also should go down to the studio and deliver some of my memorabilia I have gotten from the Show over the past week.

Yesterday I went for a walk down to Tompkins Square Park and watched the dogs in the dog run. It made me miss Stinky... I did see a few doxies while I was out (although none as cute as Stinky).

I need to post to I Heart Ann sometime soon as well, before I forget what happened on Friday.

KG has a point...

It was pointed out to me by Karolina via email that the photos I posted last night have no nature in them. I will start with an excerpt from her email here...

i like your pictures of the sky scrapers and your statement on nature vs manmade. but, there is no nature in it. if there where trees in the reflection it would go with the statement better. in fact though, i like that there is a complete lack of nature and only man made reflecting man made with the dialogue of natural vs man made being applied to it. because the definition of natural is one that is near impossible to answer.

When I was making the statement I think I was talking in general terms... the clouds in relation to the buildings - the sky... oh hell, I don't know what I'm talking about...

This morning I am going to finish my artist bio. REALLY! I know I've been saying it all along - but I'm going to go out into the world and do it. I think there are too many distractions here in the apartment (ie television and internet - and television on the internet)...

I went to bed last night before 9:00. I was worn out... it's going to be brisk today - perfect for a walk after I get all my tasks done. So I better get moving.

More photos and gossip..

This morning as I was walking back from the show I stopped by Barnes and Noble to use the facilities... I took some time to look at the Art section and overheard the conversation between Donald Trump's people and the staff. It turns out Mr. Trump will be at the store signing copies of his new book on Tuesday and they were determining logistics. I thought about slipping Donald's people one of my business cards.. but then I realized it probably wasn't such a good idea.

I have noticed that I am drawn to taking pictures of reflections and the contrast of natural with man-made...

Now this I like... I can't tell if the clouds are being reflected in the glass or if we're seeing them through it. Originally I thought it was a reflection but now I'm not sure... okay I take it back, it is a reflection...

More photos.

This is Stella, the wiener dog I met the other day. She gave me lots of kisses...
I think she even slipped me the tongue accidentally.

Columbus Circle from the Time Warner Center.

Today I am going to be serious about buckling down and starting on my bio. I've been offered help.

I better get a move on. I have no idea who is going to be on the Today Show this morning. It's was a weird day yesterday. I'm looking forward to things getting back to normal.

Photos

I took these photos tonight as I was heading home from the studio. The sky was crazy... just like me...
