Happy Birthday Stinky!

Stinky turns nine today. I can't believe she is that old! It seems like just yesterday she was a puppy. Oh how the time passes.

It's officially the beginning of the new year business wise.... should be busy... I hope. Everyone will be back in the office and ready to go...

I suppose it's fitting that it's pouring outside... Just in time for the commute.

I'm planning on wearing the new boots today... we'll see if my left foot can handle it... it's all about the Hamilton Family Feet sometimes... I think it will be okay (the boots are a better brand than I would normally buy so they probably won't hurt as much)...

I was contacted this weekend by an artist in Maine who has just started a blog. Her name is Susan Roux - here is her blog. She asked me some good questions about the blog and my website. It's got me thinking that maybe I should be doing something different or something more.... I don't know. It is a new year, maybe I should get off my butt and do more art things... Since I am planning on doing the half marathon maybe I should start back up Jeneratorrunning in earnest. I had such great plans towards the end of school.... they got sidelined. No time like the present I guess....

Okay, that's all I have for you this morning.... I'm not REALLY looking forward to the wii fit this morning because I broke into the ice cream my mother had in the freezer last night.

Oh, I think I've decided that if I can swing it I am going to try to save for a down payment on a condo of some sort... it seems stupid to pay money in rent when I could build up equity somewhere.... now the penny pinching begins....

Updates and Confessions.

I am happy to report that Stinky has no major injuries that the vet can see. She was given some anti-inflammatory medication and her shots were updated and her toenails clipped.

Yesterday I drove into work so I could deliver the clothing order to people and take some boxes home for the big move out on Sunday. I ended up staying out a little too long and had to pay 28 bucks to park. I almost cried...

I am beginning to feel the holiday blues.... I think I've said it before... my life is really good with the exception of the whole relationship thing... I was laying in bed the other day thinking that It's been 25 years since I've had anyone "special" around at Christmas... that kind of sucks... I mean, I don't know what I would do with anyone.... but it makes me a little blue - it's the same every year...

Does anyone know a good shrink? I've been thinking about the possibility of seeing someone. I did a long time ago.. and it helped a lot... maybe they could help me with my lack of self confidence when it comes to relationships.... I think it all ties back to me thinking that I'm unattractive and large (which I'm not)... and my great fear of rejection.

It's something to consider.... Okay, what else can I confess... I got to work on a Powerpoint presentation yesterday... that was an interesting change.

Today is bagel day at work... yummy.

Tomorrow I head over to my next house sitting gig... I don't mind doing them but I sure miss my puppy when I'm gone. Tonight she got her toenails clipped and a bath.

Cycle class went pretty well today... a few people came up and told me they enjoyed it (including a cute boy I used to stare at when I was just a member...). and no, he's not Mr. Arms... Now that I'm a bit more comfortable with the whole thing I have to expand my musical repertoire so I can mix it up every once in a while...

Okay, what else???? Tomorrow is the premiere of Hoarders! I'm pretty excited about that. If only I can stay up for it. Also, I found out that Chima was evicted by the Producers of Big Brother. Good Riddance!

I guess that's all right now... I'm going to go to bed soon....

Even though I have to go to the dentist this morning and don't have to leave quite as early it is still going to be a long day...

Dentist, work, a pre birthday dinner and then a meeting. Tomorrow morning I have to be at work by 6:30ish. I am going to be tired.

Yesterday I picked up the keys for my studio. I wish I could just move in stuff today as opposed to doing all that other stuff I have to do.

PERKS

This is one of the perks of my job. As I said yesterday my desk at work looks out onto the Sheraton. It was sunny out yesterday - people in hotel rooms have a habit of looking out their hotel windows when they are naked or half naked when the sun is out.

If he only knew that I was taking pictures of them... at least he had underwear on. The guy earlier was completely naked. I'm looking forward to the sunny days.

I guess I should get going... gear myself up for the long day.

My name is Jennifer and I'm a Wii addict.

Did I mention that I found a Wii Fit on Saturday and I've become obsessed? It's worried about me because I've lost 2.5 pounds since Saturday night. What it doesn't realize is that this last time that I did a body test I had an empty bladder and stomach and the first time I weighed in I had a belly full of spaghetti.

I'm going to have to figure out how to balance the Wii and blogging in the morning...

Where did the weekend go? I'm back at home now... Stinky sure was happy to see me.

This morning I got an email from my friend karolina. I am going to be staying with her when I'm in Chicago. The only problem is that she has no heat, internet, gas.... and she's working on an installation so there won't be a lot of room. Should she really be hosting me? We'll see how it goes...

Last night we went over exhibition proposals for Crawlspace... some semi-interesting ideas... nothing too exciting. It did take a while though... I also signed up for the month of February to have a show. That should keep me moving when it comes to making things.

What else can I tell you? I don't know... come to Crawl Space on Saturday for Tony Weathers opening... I'll tell you more about it later.

Welcome to hurtsville.

I am having one of those weeks. Monday during the St. Patrick's Day party at work I accidentally ran into the corner of the conference room table at work (no I was not drunk - yet)... now I have a big bruise on my leg. Yesterday I dropped a file holder thing on my foot - it broke the skin through the sock I was wearing and now it hurts like a you know what. Not enough to make me limp, but I may try to get a bit of sympathy from people.

Last night I actually did nothing which was nice. Okay, I take that back I did laundry.

I finally found the cable for my camera so here's a good shot of Stinky.

On my agenda today is work and then helping Tim install his show. I think I might start researching new races to run in as well - my new microphone should be coming on Monday. Yay.

It's a beautiful morning in downtown Lake City!

Okay, it's not that bad.

Last night I went to the open studio of my friend Tia and bought some earrings and commissioned a new necklace. I kid you not, her work is a hot commodity.

I convinced her to come to my house for dinner tonight... she gets to meet Stinky! and the rest of my family.

After my ww meeting today I am going to go to Cycling class and try to work up a sweat and slim those thighs down.

I'm feeling a bit icky... partially because I have a crick in my neck but also because I had beer both Thursday and Friday nights. I don't think my body is used to it. I need a nice benefactor/massage therapist boyfriend to work out all the knots...

so the Today show commemorative post didn't happen... Sue me.

I just got back from the gym so I'm feeling a bit energetic. That will probably last about two hours and then I'll start yawning.

I did get most of my GAP application done yesterday. It just needs some tweaking now. I guess I know what I'll be doing at lunch.

Stinky got the full treatment yesterday, she got her toenails cut, a bath and she even went for a long walk. She's a funny dog. She won't walk on a leash but she'll walk along side you. I guess she's like her momma and needs her freedom.

Today who knows what will be in store for me at work. I can't decide if I really like being employed. I know I like the paychecks... maybe I should think about applying for teaching jobs sometime soon. hmmm... something to think about.

Tuesday morning is alright for fighting...

not that I'm going to do any fighting today but you never know...

I am taking dad to the doctor today so I actually set my alarm for a reasonable time. Currently I am watching the Today show... I think Ann is sick (oh yay, she's back). I miss going there everyday.

Yesterday I got a check from Fedex for my lost box - but I also got an email from my room mate Chris, he said that Fedex tried to deliver my box to the apartment but he wasn't there. This gives me hope that the box is still in existence somewhere. Keep your fingers crossed.

I have a studio visit with Crawl Space members tonight... It's hard to have a studio visit when you don't have a studio per se. I guess I'll manage.

Yesterday I went to Cloud City Coffee to work on my Gallery4Culture Application. Who knows, maybe the third time is the charm... I figured I should get out of the house and work on it. When I was finished there I went to the gym and continued on my firm thigh campaign. I ran/walked for over an hour - my lower half is very sore today.

I forgot to mention that it was Stinky's birthday on Sunday, she's 7 now. We spent some quality time on the sofa to celebrate.

Today I am having lunch with my old boss. I haven't seen her in almost two years - it will be nice. She's one of the best people I know.

I have a one day temp job next Wednesday. Someone is going to trust me answering their phones. It should be alright.... who's going to want to call their attorney on the day after Christmas anyway right? I'll just apologize in case I hang up on someone.

Since the holiday is fast approaching I was thinking that I should probably finish my Christmas shopping sometime soon.

Stinky Dogbottom loves me.

Stinky and I cuddled together last night... she had her little wiener dog head on the pillow next to me and we both fell asleep before we could find out who won Survivor China (it was Todd).

This dial up is killing me.

Today is my dad's 81st birthday. We're going out to dinner at the Wedgewood Broiler... yum yum! I may have to have beef. I heart beef almost as much as the Today Show and Ann Curry.

I think I may also go to the gym and start working on getting my thin thighs... I have to start working on another project and it might as well be Jenerator Running.

On the agenda today is finishing my bio (I think I said I was going to do that yesterday but I didn't). I did get a good portion done but I'm just not feeling it. I am also going to have to break down and do laundry... maybe I'll take the laptop to the laundromat and work on the bio there. I also should go down to the studio and deliver some of my memorabilia I have gotten from the Show over the past week.

Yesterday I went for a walk down to Tompkins Square Park and watched the dogs in the dog run. It made me miss Stinky... I did see a few doxies while I was out (although none as cute as Stinky).

I need to post to I Heart Ann sometime soon as well, before I forget what happened on Friday.

The packing begins (sort of)...

I've done a bit of packing (but not a lot)... It was a long day yesterday... I went to the gym, I worked, I ate some home made pie, went out to lunch... fell asleep on the sofa at 9. At least in New York if I fall asleep at 9 it will really be 12.

Tomorrow when I arrive none of my roomates will be there. It will be interesting. Being alone in the big city... sort of like when I moved to Chicago - but this time I'm only going to be there a few months.

Today is weigh in. I'm sure it's not going to be good, but I am turning over a new leaf today. I am going to be putting on my healthy eater persona. I'm planning on taking all my measurements when I get to New York and see what I can accomplish in three months... being that I'm going to become a runner as well. Maybe I'll consider giving up sugar... I don't know.

I'll check back later. Stinky is crying... I let her sleep with me last night. It's almost like having a significant other.

How fast can a jenerator run?

I was reading the information about the Torchlight run last night and found out that I need to run at least an 11 minute mile to avoid being picked up by the slow person's van. That's the van that picks up all the people who can't keep up the pace. I have no concept of how fast an 11 minute mile is... I know what it means - you can run a mile in 11 minutes. Oh crap. I hope I can do it. At least if I have a cute outfit maybe people won't notice if I get picked up.

Today is my last day of freedom - it is going to be strange working full time again. It's been almost two years since I have and I hope It doesn't wear me out too much. This afternoon I am going to help the attorney I used to work for go through some files and then it's off to my last ww meeting. I am going to continue to work some Saturday meetings but this is my last Monday night.

I think I'll go to the gym this morning and see how fast an 11 minute mile is. If I can't keep up maybe I'll see if I can switch over to the 5k... then I only have to run a 15 minute mile... I know I can do that.

It all comes down to a dancing pickle...

I think I mentioned earlier that I had signed up for a free dating website. I received an email the other day from someone who called me "sweetheart". He said something about wanting to meet me and then he inserted a dancing pickle emoticon. I'm sorry, but I can't take anyone seriously with a dancing pickle.

I am happy to report that Stinky is feeling much better. The hives pretty much persisted all day and she was very uncomfortable. This morning she seems to be doing fine.

Today I have my interview and then I am stopping by to talk to talk to another attorney I worked for to see if I can help her out with some things.

I should be getting paid finally for all the ww meetings I've been working... it's only been about two months. Let's go check. Nope, no money yet, but Basic Health did get my payment and I will hopefully have some health insurance soon... do you know how long it's been since I've been to the doctor? I hope I'm not falling apart.

Stinky's eventfull morning...

It's mornings like this that you dread... at 2:45 this morning Stinky (Tucker is her real name for all you new readers) started fussing. My mom put her out and then tried to get her back to sleep but she kept on fussing. Around 4:15 she woke me up and I took her to my bed with me for a while.. I did notice that her breathing was a bit fast but didn't really think much more about it. I took her downstairs around 6 and went back to bed. around 6:20 my mom brought her upstairs and showed me her belly and it had hives on it.

We then noticed that she had hives all over her head and muzzle... we took her to the emergency vet because she was swelling up like a balloon. She got benydryll and steroids and seems to be doing better... The vet thinks she either was in contact with a spider or a wasp and had an allergic reaction.

I hate the feeling of being out of control... To think that Stinky might not make it... anxiety and stress... I was physically shaking before we took her to the vet.. (although it was just my knee).. I can only imagine what it's like when a human that you care for is in one of these situations...

So I guess if I had to sum up this morning I would say... let the people you care about know it, because you never know what's going to happen....

Where's my stuff?

Oh that's right... it's arriving today (my stuff that is). The movers are supposed to come sometime this morning. It will be nice to have something different to wear. I'm tired of the same workout clothes - I need a change.

My studio supplies are in there too... maybe I will work on something art-like finally....

Tonight I am actually going to stay up until midnight and celebrate the new year with my friends here in Chicago. It will be my opportunity to get rid of all the bad food I brought back to Chicago with me; Tim's Cascade potato chips, applets and cotletts... good thing I didn't find any Mountain Bars...
