so the Today show commemorative post didn't happen... Sue me.
I just got back from the gym so I'm feeling a bit energetic. That will probably last about two hours and then I'll start yawning.
I did get most of my GAP application done yesterday. It just needs some tweaking now. I guess I know what I'll be doing at lunch.
Stinky got the full treatment yesterday, she got her toenails cut, a bath and she even went for a long walk. She's a funny dog. She won't walk on a leash but she'll walk along side you. I guess she's like her momma and needs her freedom.
Today who knows what will be in store for me at work. I can't decide if I really like being employed. I know I like the paychecks... maybe I should think about applying for teaching jobs sometime soon. hmmm... something to think about.

Oscar Smoshcar!
This morning I woke up early to watch the announcement of the 2007 Academy Awards nominations. Unlike other years I didn't take notes... I figured staying horizontal while I watched it was a good thing.
I am happy to see that Juno as a movie and Ellen Page were both nominated.... I now have a list of movies that I would like to see. (maybe I'll make my lovely assistant Kristen go with me)...
those movies are - No Country For Old Men, There Will Be Blood and the Diving Bell and the Butterfly. I suppose there are others I could see (maybe Eastern Promises or Michael Clayton - but those first three are the top.).
On another note, I am thinking that I should start making some work... sometimes I think it would be nice to have a studio - but that costs money. I will be getting a paycheck this week... I find that I have mixed emotions about working - I have to work to earn money, but I find I don't have a lot of time to think about my other endeavors. I suppose things will be different in March (maybe)... I'm in a lull. I think I'm okay with that though. I don't really want to get stuck in one of those downward spirals that I get into sometimes.

Back to the hamster wheel of life...
I suppose answering phones for one day wouldn't be considered the hamster wheel of life but it's the best title I could come up with this morning.
I'm a bit concerned that I will hang up on someone - but I guess that stuff happens. I do suspect it will be really slow. What the hell, it's money.
Christmas went well. I think this is the first year I haven't been in the dumps about anything. I guess it's because I have been through the fire (grad school and New York) and I actually have no great stress overshadowing everything.
I am actually going to do something on New Years eve as well (I know, it's hard to believe isn't it?).
The reindeer in our front yard have been on the DL since their escapade Christmas eve... At least they're getting some action (insert smiley faced emoticon here)...

I'm here, really.
I realized that I didn't post yesterday and some of you may think that something happened to me.
No. I'm still around, just a bit disorganized (okay maybe disorganized is not the word...)...
You would be proud of me... I actually went out and saw a movie with my friend Margie on Friday. I saw Sweeney Todd. It's a bit gory but that Johnny Depp sure is cute even when he's wielding a razor.
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I guess that means that I should start doing some Christmas shopping for my family. It's hard to buy things when you haven't been around them for a few years... I found the other day while I was looking at things that I would much rather be buying things for myself.
I was supposed to go to my best friends house tomorrow afternoon, but she has pneumonia and the flu so that's out of the question. It's off to my sisters house for prime rib (yummy) and then my other sisters house on Christmas day for tamales and ham... (yummy, yummy).
Did I happen to mention that I have a job the day after Christmas? Someone is impressed enough with my skills that they're willing to let me answer their phones.
Yesterday I worked at a wedding washing dishes... not that bad a job... they pay is good and the hours short...
I think I'm just rambling now... after Christmas is over I have to get back to the work of being an artist... I've got to start working on grant applications and applying for shows... I should just enjoy myself right now...

Hello again.
It's chilly outside today. I am going out this evening to watch the sunset with Lilly. There's going to be cake.. you know how I like cake.
I have started getting things put together for my move back to Seattle. I've contacted the temp agency I worked for letting them know I was going to be available. It will be nice to be able to pay some bills... (oh yeah, those student loans are going into repayment).
Hey, look! It's me on Halloween!

and I wonder why I'm still single....

Making a list.
I'm trying to make a list of all the mail items that my mother will have to look out for while I'm in New York... bank cards, student loan crap, paychecks.. it's not an easy task.
I've changed the photo on my profile - I liked the picture of me there but I needed a change. A flower is nice - it's from my tree...
I think I'm going to pretend to be a lot of different things while I'm in New York - runner, cute person who goes out on dates (now I would say artist here - but that's the old me, I AM AN ARTIST), healthy eater...
Today is my last day at work, I have enjoyed working there but I realize that I couldn't do it full time for the rest of my life. Life is too short to not do the things you really want to do. The possibility of me working for their New York office looks pretty good.. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I may not want to do it full time but I'm not stupid enough to realize that my mad administrative skills can come in handy sometime.

Slug.
I am one... yesterday started out so well and ended with a thud. I managed to watch a bunch of episodes of What Not to Wear and then go to bed at 9:30. How's that for a Friday night?
It's times like these that I wish I had a "normal" life... I've never been one to get out and socialize or just go do things with other people. I wish I could make myself do those things... I might be a bit happier. Not that I'm not happy, I just think my overall mood swings would be less noticeable if I had more going on...
This morning I have to weigh in at my meeting. I'm not looking forward to it, but I have to do it. It also turns out that I get to help with another wedding today. The person who was going to run the CD player for the ceremony backed out so I am going to get paid $75.00 for pushing a few buttons... I just hope I don't screw up.
I've got to go and face the digits... aye aye aye!
