Monday is my fun day.

In the immortal words of the Bangles today will be my fun day.

I checked the status of my new laptop and it's currently in China. Maybe I'll name it ping or wing or something like that...

Yesterday I ate far too many things that were less than good for me. I am at negative 15 points for the week. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to hit the gym. I only need two cycle classes to make up for the deficit.

I don't think this post will be too long this morning, I'm icing my elbow and it's hard to type and balance a bag of ice on your arm at the same time.

Today I have to get cracking on my schedule for training so it can be posted on the Crawl Space website... Oh, what have I gotten myself into.

Things I ate yesterday that I shouldn't have...

Hot fudge brownie sundae (two of them)
Brownie - single serving (three)
Beer (four)
Sausage stuffed mushrooms (three)
Cured meat (6 big slices)

It sure was good though. I have no regrets.

Another week of bliss.

Yesterday Kristen and I ended up going to the Green Lake Bar and Grill instead of Julia's. The line there was too long.

We both had omelettes with tons of port products and cheese. It was good but I'm not looking forward to getting on the scale anytime soon.

Yesterday I also registered for the St. Patrick's Day Dash (run?). I guess I have to fully commit. I did start practicing my running at the gallery the other day... (is that the correct term "practice running"?).

This week I've got a full slate. The UW thing tomorrow, First Thursday on Thursday, work, looking for a soul mate.

How about that Superbowl last night? I was rooting for the Giants because I did live in New York for a few months.... the commercials were alright. I hate to admit that my favorite one was the Fedex carrier pigeons one. Too bad Fedex still sucks for damaging and losing my box of Today show memorabilia.

Stress is working it's way...

if I had access to the following things I would eat them right now.

A pound of bacon.

ding dongs

Cherry Cordial ice cream

chocolate cream pie with whipped cream on top (any kind of whipped cream - it could even be the fake stuff).

Potato chips with ranch dip.

Buffalo Wings with blue cheese dressing

Cheese sticks (the deep fried variety - they have to be breaded and fried)

nachos

Pop Secret Homestyle brand popcorn

fish and chips

spaghetti and meatballs

chocolate milk

big hunks

ginger lemon creme cookies

I would eat those all and then I would explode. I'm sure I would be missed.

I think I'll make pesto...

do I know how to make it? No... but I bought some basil at the farmers market yesterday... better yet, I should make bruscetta. It's better for me than pesto....

I ended up sleeping over nine hours. I've been exhausted recently... my body is beginning to hurt - I wish I could afford to go to a gym and work out... I think it's the loss of muscle tone that's' leading to the aches.

I'm sitting here with my coffee watching the Today Show... it's nice to be able to watch it once in a while and not be on it.

Today in addition to the possibility of making food (it's a never ending topic for me...) I may go to Target and look for a top to wear to the Martha Stewart show on Tuesday. I think the studio where they film is just a short walk from my apartment. I want to look good for my appearance... maybe I should get some teeth whitening strips too! I don't want my teeth to look dingy.

Adjusting to New York has been different... I know a few people but I'm not one to really go out and socialize. I should try to do it... but inside I really don't. I like being a hermit. A hermit that loves to watch television.

Okay, here's a funny story... yesterday I was in the crowd at the Today show and a woman was there from Chicago. She had said to her friend that I was from Chicago.... but she didn't know where... we got to talking and it turns out that she remembers me from Weight Watchers... either from a meeting or from me working at reception. Now that's a small world.

Speaking of WW - yesterday should have been payday but I didn't get paid... it's like pulling teeth to get a paycheck... I'm having my mother send me my pay stub from last time so I can figure out what I have and haven't been paid for. It almost makes me want to eat.

Well, I should start to think about moving soon... Maybe I'll meet my future husband today... maybe I'll find a check for a million dollars!!! Maybe I'll find the perfect top...

Alone (but not) in the city...

I was just out looking for some dinner... I almost had to call someone to talk me down from the chip aisle at Duane Reade (it's like Walgreen's). I'm enjoying my time here but I often feel lonely. I suppose I often feel lonely even when I'm not alone... James suggested that I watch Taxi Driver when I stated that I thought Manhattan wasn't made for loners (like me)..

I wish I had more energy sometimes. I feel like I didn't do the normal things during my 20's and 30's and now when I think I might want to do them I'm too stinking tired to.

Okay enough reflection. I said I would talk about my run-in with the employees of Chili's (or something to that effect)...

This is Susan

She was part of a group that works for Chili's at the Garden State Mall in Paramus New Jersey. They were at the Today Show raising money for St. Judes I think... they were all very nice and somehow I ended up with the managers card, 20 bucks in gift certificates and bus directions on how to get there. I think I may have to take a field trip and document it for you all. I've never been to New Jersey!

Maria downgraded the cable and now everything's fuzzy... it reminds me of television watching in Chicago.

Well, I guess I better eat my nutritious dinner of chicken noodle soup and green beans... See you all tomorrow.

I'm here...

I've found the following: my weight watchers meeting location, my bank, a cashier at the nearby Wallgreen's that used to work at the Chicago Walgreen's I shopped at. Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, D'agostinos (where I received my rewards card). The remote to the television, and Maria's computer which I will use until I have the password for the wifi in the apartment.

All I can say is that I've missed having to walk everywhere, food is expensive and it's going to be hard to live without a microwave oven.

Hola and Howdy.

It's Monday morning - what up with all of you?

I've been to the gym and am currently microwaving my Smart Ones frozen dinner for breakfast. I know, you're thinking why is she having a frozen dinner for breakfast? It's because I can.

I'm going to get back on track this week - I've eaten like a pig the past two days... that birthday party killed me. Okay - it was the beer I drank at the birthday party that made me lose my good food judgment. But man, those cupcakes were good. As was the pasta salad and the chips and the burgers and the hotdog... oh, I forgot the ice cream.

Today it is back to work for me... I wonder what I'll wear today - I have to look cute and smell good. That's my advice to everyone... if you're a guy you can look good as opposed to cute (same thing I suppose)...

I tried to stay awake last night to watch the Two Coreys on A & E but I became comatose sometime in the middle of Gene Simmon's Family Jewels... (I think that show's kind of funny) and missed it all.

I guess that's it for now.

Live from Bellevue...

So, this is what dial up feels like... the slow loading, mind numbing wait for the pages to fully materialize. Things from the other side of the lake are just fine... I figured out how to make the coffee and I'm good to go.

The only hazzard about staying at other people's houses is that there is bad food. I polished off two Hershey bars and a few animal crackers. To add to the food fest I only walked about 3,000 steps yesterday... That's not good. I'll have to make up for it somehow... give me some exercise points.

Well, I suppose I should go because I don't know how long it will take me to get ready and I have to commute from the Eastside.

Word to your mother.

The Verdict.

I received a phone call from my friend Melinda and we went for a walk and then to dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Downtown Edmonds. It was good.

I also received a phone call from my territory manager and I am going to be working one or two ww meetings tomorrow morning. It's the two that are after my regular meeting at 7am. It will be nice to have some more money coming in.

BTW, I didn't get a paycheck... I'm figuring it has something to do with my moving and not having my information updated.

I'm back..

Twice in one day. Can you believe it? I love having wifi in the range of the sofa.

I am happy to report that I went to the gym tonight. I went to the one near where I'm house sitting... it's not as nice am the one I usually go to but it will suffice.

I wish I didn't like food so much... okay maybe it's not that I like food - it's just that I eat when I'm lonely or bored (which is a lot). I suppose I could make myself go out and do things but it's just hard sometimes. Maybe by the time I turn 43 things will change. What the hell am I talking about?

The day after...

I was going to try and be good and not overdo it when it came to eating yesterday.

I failed. but it's another day and I will get back on that horse and try to ride it out of town... (that sounds sort of dirty..).

I have one thing to say to people out there online looking for love. Please know how to spell and run a spell check before you submit anything for public perusal. I'm not going to go out with you if you can't spell "very" or differentiate "they're" and "there" or "you're" and "your".

Today I am washing dishes at church again. I will go to the gym and work out... I have to work off that Peanut Buster Parfait I ate last night....

How much food coud a jenerator eat...

My welcome home food fest is coming along swimmingly... I'm not going to step on the scale because I know what I will find and it won't be pretty.

I went to Pilgrim Firs on Saturday and had a splendid time. I wrote a post and I will tack it on the end of this post today.. I think it's kind of sappy and I wrote it when I was really tired. I was only there for 20 hours or so but it did me a world of good.

Yesterday I spent most of the day with my sister, brother in law and nephews in Olympia. We went to the farmers market and then we had birthday cake and watched Mary Poppins (I snoozed a little bit in the middle)... after dinner I came back home.

I'm still trying to process the whole being out of Grad school thing... I need to start working some more (making art that is)... I'm also trying to find ways to make money this summer...

If you're out there and have a job to give I need it.

Maybe I'll run around Greenlake today.

Here's the PF post
8431 steps, 3.85 miles, 2 activity points…
Pilgrim Firs.

It’s nice to be missed. I’m here at Pilgrim Firs (for those of you who don’t know it’s a camp that I went to as a kid and have counseled at summer camp for 17 of the last 19 summers.)

It’s one of those places that everyone should have, a place to be yourself, to experience a connected-ness with your friends and whatever your God might be. Some of the most important people of my life are those that I’ve met here. I have also made some very important decisions here.

Over the years I have received and written letters to people from within these cabin walls that have been the most honest communications possible. It’s where I met my very first boyfriend back in the 80’s and had my first “real” slow dance. It’s where I contemplated weather or not I liked drinking a little too much and it’s where I found my authentic self.

I guess I should go to bed now… I’ll talk more about this place at a later time… my back is killing me and I should try to get some sleep.

Reigning it in.

I need to regain some self control. I have succumbed to some of my favorite foods and now I need to toe the line.... I guess that's normal.

I've been waking up in the middle of the night thinking that I'm not here to stay... (it's a bit unsettling...)...

Yesterday my visit to the chiropractor was wonderful, my neck is much better and my hip doesn't hurt quite as much.

Last night I went to the opening of the University of Washington MFA show at the Henry Art Gallery. There's something to be said about University art as opposed to Art School art.... maybe it's the environment that it's in and the people who are there. The work was good.

I saw some of my friends and some professors... I really need to start working on things again... maybe today I'll do some audio recordings.

On the agenda today is my ww meeting, then I'm going to go to Pilgrim Firs for the afternoon for camp counselor training camp (which I don't really need, but I need to go to camp)... Tomorrow it's off to Olympia to see my nephews and celebrate Victor's birthday.

My postcards are in...

They are beautiful.

I went out to dinner with Karolina, her friends Mel and Alea (I'm not sure about the spelling)... Dan, Jefferson and Jeroen. We had pizza (well actually I had spaghetti)... I missed America's Next Top Model in order to go. It's alright... I can check online to see who's out.

I'm feeling a bit more normal now... a little full, but normal.

Stick a fork in me...

I'm done. My critique went well. I came to a few decisions regarding the piece.

Now I have that post critique exhaustion... My tooth is aching a bit. Hopefully I didn't mess it up with all my stress eating. If I cracked it they'll have to pull it out. That's me - the toothless wonder. At least it's in the back.

I got my first rejection letter. It was from Artist's Trust's Edge program... I can always re-apply. When Tim was here last week he had a big stack of rejection letters... so I just figure this is the beginning of my rejection stack.

I've been invited to go out for pizza... could be good, but it could be disaster.

Hi

It's Sunday morning. The party last night was fun. I ate some really good food... not too much but I went well over my points. My favorite thing was chorizo baked in wine. yummy! I also had a couple firsts (or seconds I suppose), I actually ate some avocado and a piece of sushi last night (okay don't anyone have a heart attack...). I'm not always the most adventuresome when it comes to food.

I should get up and get out but I think I'm a little hungover (not in a bad sick to my stomach way but a I'm moving a bit slower way...).

Next weekend I am doing the Race to Wrigley.. I should actually run sometime this week to train. On the news this morning they had shots of the Shamrock Shuffle.... makes me want to run.

No self control.

I went to Exchequer tonight and ate too much... I always tell myself that I should remember this feeling... my stomach is bloated, my left shoulder hurts... I WANT TO DIE....

But will I remember? Probably not.

Pictures from New York.

Good morning everyone! I am happy to report that I got a fairly good nights sleep. I was really dragging yesterday.

The first picture is of the Empire State building... I considered going up in it but the wait was too long. The second picture is of the appetizing food display that they had set up in JFK. The gate that I flew out of was an elongated trailer sort of thing. They had a makeshift bar whith this yummy looking plate of food out front. I like food, but not enough to want to eat this.

Now you know how it feels...

To have the sweet thought of Superbowl glory ripped from your heart while it's still beating.

I had a good time at the party though. Karolina made the best hotwings ever and there were also Lovie Smith and Mike Ditka cupcakes. There was also pizza, potato skins and other yummies. I'm not even getting on the scale today.

Can we talk about the weather? You know it's cold when there is ice buildup on the inside of your window ledge.
