It's the same old thing...

I sit here on the sofa and complain about something hurting on my body...  today it is my heel... that good old plantar fasciitis again.  The ankle is good so something else has to go out...

Last night I ran for about a half an hour - it felt pretty good but I probably should have not done it just to let my foot rest.

I think if I were to take a look back over the posts I've done over the years I probably have the same pattern of being cranky  pre-vacation.

Tonight on Bravo is the premiere of Work of Art.  It's a reality show for Artists.  I know one of the persons on the show... well, I don't really know him, but I've met him.  He taught at school...  I also accosted Jerry Saltz in the elevator once when I was in school.  He is one of the critics... I would equate him to the Nina Garcia of Project Runway...  who knows if the show takes off I might apply to be on future edition.  You know I have experience being on television while making art...

Onto other things... not much going on... I work, teach, then come home and watch So You Think You Can Dance...  oh my life is so exciting...  t-minus seventeen days until I have to run thirteen miles...  I know I can do it if my foot will let me....

Halfway through the week!

I have made it past hump day! yippee cay aye! I think that's how you spell it?

I know I've mentioned it before but It's worth mentioning it again... There's a barista at Starbucks who I think has a little bit of a crush on me. His name is Joe. Whenever I come in he always tries to get my drink to me by the time I make it to the bar. Yesterday there was a long line so I was just hanging out waiting.. I had made it about halfway through and had just gotten to the case with all the food in it. As I was playing solitaire on my ipod this cup of coffee appears before my eyes. You just can't help but to like customer service like that... He's going to make someone a nice little husband.... I wonder if he rubs feet?

Last night's episode of SYTYCD was excellent. There were a few performances that were less than wonderful but for the most part they all rocked. I really like Evan and Randi... and Kupono and Ashley... and pretty much everyone else!

Yesterday was busy at work... today may or may not be... we will see... I suppose I don't have much more to say this morning... That's alright.

Friday - are ready?

I'm in the mood to take a nap. I let Stinky sleep with me and as I've told you before she's a bed hog and she's a little heater. I didn't get the most restful nights sleep.

It's 08/08/08... a lucky day... maybe I'll meet my soul mate today... maybe I'll find money in the street... maybe I'll manage to get through the work week without killing anyone (not that I would - because that would be bad).

Last night I watched the sytycd finale. Joshua won. I'm alright with that - but I really wanted Kaytee to win. I should have voted for a half an hour instead of just 15 minutes... oh well. We did get to see Mary Murphy and Nigel dance which was kind of fun. I want to have legs like Mary.

Crap. I don't want to move.

What else do I know... I'm trying to arrange the sit schedule for my show... it's not an easy task to do long distance. I have to arrange for the exchange of keys etc... yikes. If I could just get one person to do it that would be ideal... hmmm.

Too bad I can't just move to Chicago for the month. I'd just be easier.

Irritation...

These unsightly blemishes on my body are bringing me down. I suppose they will all be gone in a few weeks so I can wait it out. It's not like anyone ever sees me up close. (By this I mean staring at my belly)...

I think I could use a massage - yesterday I got a pretty good headache at work, not incapacitating but still bad enough that I needed to take three advil. I think it's all the stress I have at work(yeah, right).

Pasty white thighs.

Lack of sleep.

and my rash.

Today I have a ww meeting to look forward to and the elimination show of So You Think You Can Dance.

Heartrate Monitor/GPS here I come!

I am expecting my new heart rate monitor to arrive today. I sure hope I can figure out how to use it by tomorrow night's torchlight run.

Speaking of the run I need to find a nice outfit that covers up my rash. It's sort of spreading to my legs now. I love viruses...

Speaking of viruses, I have one in my version of Microsoft Work. I downloaded a virus scan, and I know how to check for viruses, I just don't know how to get rid of it....

I love technology, I just wish I knew more about it.


Okay, next subject. I have found someone to print my images for the show in Chicago and things are falling into place... I've bought my plane tickets and now I just have to find a few people to sit at the gallery when I can't be there. Now if I could just find a boyfriend.....

Oh, last night Will was voted off SYTYCD. I will miss looking at his abs....

Okay, here's the rundown on my Dr. visit last night. I seem to be in good health and she (Dr. Borg) thinks that weighing 152 is pretty good. so pooh pooh weight watchers and your suggested weight ranges.... she is going to call back my paper chart and find out how much I weighed at my highest so I can have a point of reference.

The best part of the evening??? okay, maybe not the best part of the evening but I got to schedule my very first mammogram! I know, you are probably all as excited as I am! I figure the least I can do is talk about it as a public service (to the ten people who regularly read my blog). It's nothing to be ashamed of... in fact it's probably going to be the most action the girls have seen in a long time.

Today's agenda is full... work (with lunch at Benihana), working out and then filming at the house. I hope I can get home by SYTYCD (that's So You Think You Can Dance for you newbies out there). At some point I think I might have to start packing.

I'm looking forward to taking a nap sometime next week....

My face hurts.

I woke up this morning and my jaw hurts. I'm looking forward to going to the TMJ people... it's not painful enough to debilitate me but it is a pain in the butt - or should I say face. My shoulder has also been hurting - maybe that is part of the whole thing...

I got an email from the curator in Chicago whose gallery I am supposed to have a show at in September.... I hope everything is still a go. I have to get my act together. She asked a few months ago if I wanted to participate in a summer show (which I do) but she is going to be in Chicago the week I am going to be at camp. I wish I had known sooner. it sucks that I can't just drop everything and fly to Chicago... too expensive and too short of notice. I NEED A BENEFACTOR/PATRON.

Tonight I have to deliver food to our resident artist. On tap this weekend I have to get my fellowship application put together for Artist Trust, get a massage, and take my dad out to breakfast for father's day. I'm sure there's other things that I'm forgetting about... Oh yeah, I need to start planning the screen printing class I'm going to do at camp.

I better get off to start my day. SYTYCD (So You Think You Can Dance) was not a shocker last night... Rayven and Jamie were eliminated... it's too soon for me to care)...

sofa time...

I think the world needs more sofa/internet places.... just set up bars/living rooms with free wifi and let people come in and wear their bathrobes and slippers and surf the web and watch television at the same time.... if you hadn't figured it out I am sitting at Nancy's house with old crusty on my lap. I am currently watching So You Think You can Dance... you might recall that last year I was very involved in this show (I think it's my years of training with the Sheila Clark School of Dance)... It's too early for me to pick favorites....

So.... I get to go to the dentist tomorrow... of course my face doesn't hurt so much anymore. Oh well... it's better to find out if there is something wrong...

Today is day number two without going to the gym... it's kind of strange.

It's almost time for the season finale of Top Chef Chicago.... oh I love television.

Everyone can uncross their fingers now.

The gods have spoken and Sabra was chosen as America's Favorite dancer on SYTYCD. I know that may not rank up there with important news events of the day but for me it was the most important. Who wants to hear about all that gloomy stuff. I want to spread the joy of dance (and reality television).

I have requested tickets to see a live taping of the Martha Stewart show... hopefully I'll get on and she'll be giving away good stuff. It would be fun to see how many television shows I could get on in a three month period.... hmmm. maybe I'll do that.

This morning my laptop is making a few noises (the fan is whirring)... I hope it's not going to die. That would suck - I should probably break out the hard drive and back it up.

Remember, only ten and a half hours until the weekend - Pacific Standard Time.

Who knew I would have so many uninteresting things to blog about. Not much different is going on around here - no gym, just coffee and blogging.

Yesterday I got to work filing for the property tax group. It wasn't so bad.... I'd rather be doing that than just sitting around trying to find things to do.

Last night on SYTYCD I was a bit under impressed with it all. I did like Neil and Danny's routine put together by Mia Michaels... however if I had to choose my favorite piece(s) from the season it would be Jamie and Hok's hummingbird piece or Neil and Sabra's Jazz piece from last week... it was done to Sweet Dreams... I could tell you all a story about when I first saw the Eurythmics at Bumbershoot back in the 80's with Trevor my first boyfriend... but I digress.

I'm still rooting for Sabra... Lacey does nothing for me... ever since it was revealed that her hair smells because of her weave it totally turned me off. If one of the boys win that would be alright as well... but my dialing finger is bandaged because I was dialing for Sabra.

Tonight my friend Anne is having an Opening at the Lawrimoreproject. I've mentioned her before... she is one of the people who runs Crawl Space - the gallery that I will hopefully be joining once my life gets a little less hectic. I hope I can drag my ass to it...

The weather looks sucky, I better get moving to face the day.

A tough row to hoe..

I was mistaken when I thought I was going to be paid yesterday - The Art Institute paid on Thursdays and WW was Friday back in Chicago. Well, I checked my bank account this morning and I did get paid but only for one meeting. You can't pay bills with $31.27. Okay, you could pay the random minimum credit card payment but not much more. I guess I'll just have to hound the powers that be.

On the bright side I did get that temp job I interviewed for yesterday. It's good to have "mad administrative skills"...the office manager was wondering why I didn't want a permanent position - it sounded like I could have one if I wanted (I'll have to keep this in mind for later in the year).

The only drawback to actually having a job is that I won't be able to watch the Today show in the morning. I must admit that my viewing habits have changed since I moved back home... it was much easier to sit on the futon with the computer on my lap and the television on in 280 square feet of room than it is here. My wifi connection doesn't reach into the living room. Oh well, the sacrifices we have to make.

Last night I went out to dinner with my mother and the "ladies", it's a group of women my mother has known for years and years. They get together for dinner a couple times a month - Their dinners were always shrouded in mystery to me, but really they just get together and eat. It was a bit noisy so we couldn't gossip or anything.

On SYTYCD they eliminated Hoc and Anya. I had guessed that those would be the two... I was hoping that Lacey would be in the bottom three but she wasn't... she's good, but Sabra and Sara are better I think...

Today I need to enjoy my last full day of unemployment... maybe lay on the sofa with my dog. Paint my toenails - WAIT A MINUTE! the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale starts today... I could spend my $31.27 on something pretty!

I heart my new phone...

if I had a picture to post I would... it's just spiffy... I can even take videos on it.

I might have a long term temp job lined up... but it doesn't pay as much as I would like. I guess I should just suck it up and take it because I need to earn some money. We'll see how it goes... they want someone for two months but I am only available until the end of August (Start your speculation why here....).

I'm sort of at the point where I don't really want to work but I have to earn some money soon or I'll be in trouble.

Tonight my momma and I walked down to Jalisco's for dinner... it was yummy. I had arroz con pollo. Tomorrow I'm going to check in with my dad. He's been on vacation and I haven't seen him for a while... I have to get back to SYTYCD. Later

Heat is hot.

Duh... it reached 97 degrees yesterday... I was hot but not too uncomfortable. I have Chicago to thank for that... I would take a 97 with dry heat over 85 with humidity. I only had to take one shower yesterday as opposed to three.

High point today will be getting my new cell phone. I will try to make the casts of my feet as well... it will be good to do some work like that.

I have floated the idea of going to a pub mixer to my friend Kristen... I haven't seen her since I moved back, but we're both young (ahem) single girls... we have a lot to offer and I could give up my television watching for one night (even though Brother and SYTYCD are on).

I've had a few calls from the temp agency about jobs... I am going to return them today... I have to start earning some money... I also found out that WW had been holding my pay because my ex territory manager hadn't completed the paperwork on my transfer. This means no paycheck until next week.

It's just not the same.

This week on the Today show has been a bit lackluster. Ann is not there and I'm not even sure Al has been there either.

Last night after dinner I went to Target to try on bathing suits - holy crap! I need to do something to my thighs.... liposuction, tanning... encase them in frosted Plexiglass so no one can see them. They are a bit dimply and pasty... maybe I should go to the gym and do lunges - that's probably a better idea than plexi.

Last night on SYTYCD it was a shocker! Jessi and Jesus... Poor Shauna now has to Dance with Cedric again... woe is me. Okay not that Cedric is bad, it's just that he doesn't have the versatility of the other dancers.

Do you think maybe I need to get a life?

If I could do it all over...

How in the hell did I get to be 40? I don't feel 40. Sure, I've been 40 for a few months now but I still can't quite get used to it.

Maybe if I kept repeating my age to myself over and over it might make me believe it.

On tonight's schedule I will watch the results show of So You Think You Can Dance (forever to be known on the blog as SYTYCD).. and starting to get together things for camp.
