This afternoon I walked to Target and did a little shopping... I bought a pair of shorts and a navy blue top. Not that I really can afford to spend money on things I can't wear right now but hey, I have no regrets.

I am very excited that America's Next Top Model is on again... and the best thing is it doesn't interfere with watching Lost.

Oh, how I love television!

Now that the paper is out of the way it's all downhill from here. I have to figure out MFA show stuff and start looking for a job and firm up my thighs.

Stick a fork in me...

I am done... hopefully my last research paper EVER!

Man, I need a drink.

I have managed to squirrel away some movies to check out including Taladega Nights, War of the Worlds and Sophie Scholl the Final days... quite the selection.

Good news, bad news

Good news is that I'm up today! Bad news, the hallway in my apartment building smells like someone died in it.

Good news, I am almost done with the paper. Bad news, I have to do dishes today.

Good news, only 80 days until I graduate. Bad news, I have to figure out what I'm doing for the MFA show.

Maybe today I'll try to exercise a bit. I think I'm about due for a walking trip to Target.

Oh yeah, more good news... I finally got a Wednesday paper and the food ads come in it! the past few weeks I was either in New York or the paper was stolen...

maybe I'm just cranky but...

the people on the bus ride home were about the most annoying ever. I would go into it but it would probably just make me crankier.

I just have a few revisions to make on my paper and fix up the bibliography and then I'm good to go.

I decided today that I should just show my artwork in grocery stores, shopping malls and fast food restaurants because those are my favorite places and I think the people there would appreciate it.

I'm in the library again (this time at school... less interesting odors than the Public Library...).

Still working on the paper - I think it will be okay, but I could always do better.

Sarah F. is going to be teaching a jazz dance for a performance... I think I'm going to sign up for the lessons. You know how I love to dance!

The Final Countdown...

I ended up going to bed at 8:30 last night...boy was I in a foul mood. 24 hours and I should be done with the paper. I guess it's alright but I'm such an overachiever... I wish I didn't expect so much from myself.

I'm supposed to write about the symposium I went to on Saturday for class tonight. I wish I remembered more of it or there was something particular that I remember.... Maybe if there had been male strippers there I would have remembered it better and THAT would be something I could write about.

I guess since I have chosen to be an artist I should probably have to learn how to talk like an artist.... maybe that's what I'll write about... my resistance to becoming an "artist" and how the institution comodifies me... does that make sense?

I'd rather....

So the critics agree with me on the Jennifer Hudson dress. Not that it was necessarily bad but it wasn't Oscar worthy.

I'm off to spend the entire day at the library and hopefully get my paper finished. Then I can let it sit for half a day and then do some editing..

I'm gassy... I guess I ate too much broccoli yesterday...

Oscar Schmoscar

Once again I am plastered in front of the television to watch the Oscars and make observations.

So far I give a big thumbs down to Jennifer Hudson's dress. It looks like crap.

Penelope Cruz is hot.... so is Eddie Murphy... now there's Cate Blanchett... I'm tired of all this chit chat - let's get to the show.

Another strange thing is that I watched the Barbara Walters special BEFORE the Oscars... (that's a new thing for me...it's on after on the west coast!).

I'll report more later.

Paper time...

Right now I'm at Argo Tea working on my paper (okay... I'm actually blogging - but I AM working on the paper too!)... I got an email from someone responding to my yahoo personal page but in order to send a real email I have to subscribe to their program.

So much for finding true love (or true lust!).... maybe when I'm a rich and famous artist I will be able to afford to search for it.

New ways to eat broccoli...

In an never-ending quest to find different ways to get my veggie servings in I have discovered a new way of preparing broccoli. (tangent here - at the WW meeting I work on Thursdays they have fruit and veggie trays for their employees - nice! I usually take home leftovers such as broccoli and cauliflower....) This afternoon I took a bunch of leftover broccoli (am I using the word broccoli too much???) and steamed it in the microwave and then topped it with salsa and fat free sour cream (just a tad). It is pretty good for broccoli.

errr....

So I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't post when I don't have anything exciting to say. But then I might not ever post again.

This morning I'm off to the symposium at school and then it's back home to work on the paper. I'm sure I'll get it done but I just wish it was finished. I knew this would happen, wait and wait and wait... then have a week to finish.

I'm sure there are probably people out there who procrastinate even longer than I do, I just don't feel comfortable doing it myself... but it always happens. I have problems planning ahead.

I can't concentrate...

I'm watching 1 vs. 100... and sort of working on my paper.... I'm thinking maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow afternoon when I'm not in my apartment... with the television and food.

Aye aye aye... it's early. I haven't been up this early in a while. Today I have to work at WW and then give a tour... then it's back to work on the paper. Oh the paper....

Tomorrow there is a symposium at school that I have to help with. It's called the New Institutionalism... it's about the future of exhibitions in art schools... (I think). Mary Jane Jacob is in charge of the whole thing.. I think I'd be more interested if I didn't have the paper to worry about...

I was taking a look at my stats to see who was looking at my blog and Jet Blue has been watching.

JET BLUE - PLEASE GIVE ME A LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTION TO DIRECT TV. I WOULD LOVE YOU FOREVER AND BECOME A SPOKESPERSON FOR YOU!

Maybe someone will see that and take action... if not the Direct TV they could pay one months rent... that would be cool.

Itchy

I've had a bad case of itchy dry skin... I can't wait for spring and the warmer weather. Yesterday it got up into the 40's but I was inside for most of the day.

I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep. I slept until 8:15 this morning... I still feel dopey though.

I'm working today at WW and then it's off to the public library to work on my paper. I have less than a week. So far I have only a few pages written and they're not that good. I just have to get it done.

Okay, this morning's post is lame. Sorry, I'll see if I can come up with somethig better later.

Good morning everyone! I am happy to report that I got a fairly good nights sleep. I was really dragging yesterday.

The first picture is of the Empire State building... I considered going up in it but the wait was too long. The second picture is of the appetizing food display that they had set up in JFK. The gate that I flew out of was an elongated trailer sort of thing. They had a makeshift bar whith this yummy looking plate of food out front. I like food, but not enough to want to eat this.

I survived.

Root canal good (well, not good really)... advising good, class (we had cookies!).

I think it's probably a good idea if I go to bed now. Blog at you later.

Oh yeah, I got an email from Jet Blue today - here's what it said.

I have to say that although I was inconvenienced with the cancellation I am impressed with how Jet Blue is handling the situation (so far).

Reasons why...

I am so tired I'm not making any sense... I'm having a hard time focusing.. I have to get it together soon. I have to go finish having my root canal. On today's agenda after the root canal I have advising and then my class. I have to work on my paper at some point as well.

I also have to go pick up my package at the Post Office. Hopefully they haven't sent it away.

Last night my flight didn't get in until 10:00. I ended up taking the train and bus home because I figured I should save my money. The president of Jet Blue is going to be on the Today show this morning. It will be interesting to see what he has to say. I would fly them again just because of the DirectTv they have on their flights. I got to watch all my favorite Monday night shows last night. I love television.
