Happy national artichoke day!

Today is national artichoke day. I love artichokes. They are one of my favorite vegatables! I have to get moving and go to work.

Later I will have to update you all on my race preparations, Jet Blue compensation and the return of the cold weather.. but for now I have to make myself beautiful for the public.

Famous for something or just famous.

Yesterday when I was advising with Chritine she asked if I wanted to be famous for something or just famous. I think I just want to be famous.

Now how do I get to be famous without doing anything???

Someone from Jet Blue posted a comment regarding my post about them watching me. She said she couldn't help me with the free Direct TV... oh well.

There's something really satisfying about knowing who's looking at my blog.

Today Show website...

The Today Show has a new website and blog which I'm pretty excited about. Okay, maybe I'm not really excited about it, but it makes it much easier for me to check up on stories and find out what Ann is doing.

I'm trying to figure out why I think Ann Curry is so swell. I think it's her hair. It always looks so nice. Maybe it's becasue she's from Oregon.

I posted a comment on their blog this morning and gave them a link to my blog... maybe they'll check me out and want me to come on the show. I still haven't looked at the video from when Al talked to me on President's Day.... I also haven't heard from Jet Blue... maybe I'll get a free ticket and I can go back to the Today Show and finally meet Ann (Matt too, he's a hottie).

Maybe I'll go back when its warmer outside so I can look cute out on the plaza and not like a nordic ski champion.

Jet Blue is Watching Me!

I was taking a look at my stats to see who was looking at my blog and Jet Blue has been watching.

JET BLUE - PLEASE GIVE ME A LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTION TO DIRECT TV. I WOULD LOVE YOU FOREVER AND BECOME A SPOKESPERSON FOR YOU!

Maybe someone will see that and take action... if not the Direct TV they could pay one months rent... that would be cool.

I survived.

Root canal good (well, not good really)... advising good, class (we had cookies!).

Oh yeah, I got an email from Jet Blue today - here's what it said.

I have to say that although I was inconvenienced with the cancellation I am impressed with how Jet Blue is handling the situation (so far).

Reasons why...

I am so tired I'm not making any sense... I'm having a hard time focusing.. I have to get it together soon. I have to go finish having my root canal. On today's agenda after the root canal I have advising and then my class. I have to work on my paper at some point as well.

I also have to go pick up my package at the Post Office. Hopefully they haven't sent it away.

Last night my flight didn't get in until 10:00. I ended up taking the train and bus home because I figured I should save my money. The president of Jet Blue is going to be on the Today show this morning. It will be interesting to see what he has to say. I would fly them again just because of the DirectTv they have on their flights. I got to watch all my favorite Monday night shows last night. I love television.

I'm a star!

So I got on the Today Show and chatted with Al. My sister taped it for me back in Seattle. My sign got a little bit of attention...

After my encounter with Al I had to go into Dean and Deluca to warm up... man, five layers is sometimes not warm enough!

Unfortunately when I was in Dean and Deluca everyone came out (including Anne) and I missed my chance at meeting her.

Maybe if Jet Blue gives me a free ticket I will come back when it's warmer and try to meet her.

Well, I better get back to checking on how I'm going to get to the airport tonight. So far the flight is as scheduled.

Soho Fun!

As you can tell from the cleaver title to this post I spent the afternoon in Soho. While Maria went to the gym (I was a sloth) I walked around Soho. When she was done we walked around some more and then went to brunch and then did some shopping. I had to buy a hoodie because I was cold...

I am going to do my best to get to the Today show tomorrow morning... all this thanks to Jet Blue. Keep your eyes open for me!

I'm running out of clothes...

I only packed for four days... now that four has stretched into six I am running out of clothes... I think I'm okay on the underwear.. but I'm really tired of my shoe selection. I feel like a schlub.

On another note I checked out the Jet Blue website and there is only one flight scheduled today and then three tomorrow. I was watching the news and I guess they are trying to get crews their mandatory rest periods and reposition planes. That's why they canceled so many flights.

I'm just glad I got on one tomorrow. I'd hate to be someone who actually had to be somewhere important, not that my stuff is not important but it's not like I have to go to a funeral or a wedding.

Maybe tomorrow morning I'll try to get to the Today show for real! (That's me trying to put a positive spin on things...).

Right now I've switched on the Weekend today show... I may take a shower when it's over and try to get some coffee.

I sure hope they are going to give me a free flight or something... it's an inconvenience... not that I mind staying here a few more days... but what if I had to pay for a hotel room?

I have that paper I was planning on working on... all my research is in Chicago... arghh!!

Canceled Flights...

So my bad luck with fights continues... my flight back to Chicago was canceled... I am currently on hold (going on 18 minutes...) to see what my options are. I don't mind not getting canceled... but I was looking forward to sleeping in my own bed. I am in New York though... not too bad - and I have a place to stay.

Can I just say that this muzak I'm listening to is driving me crazy...maybe it's because I had a lack of caffeine headache this morning (which is gone...) but the memory lingers.

I'll keep you all updated on what's happening.

Okay... I'm on a flight out Monday evening...grr....
