Bloger is not working so well.

I've been trying to post but it isn't working... I have a bunch to say, but I don't think it worth typing because It probably won't let me post....

Things that suck.

They are raising the cost of laundry in my building to $1.50. That sucks the big wean.

My halloween costume is not going to suck though, It's going to be beautiful.

I have to go to bed now.

Ode to Rotiserie Chicken, part tre (that's Italian)

After class today I had to go to Joanne's to get supplies to make my Halloween costume. The store is located next to Cub Foods (the one that's closing). I decided to get a rotiserie chicken - lemon pepper flavor... I must say it's the best I've had in Chicago so far. Too bad they're closing.

Still crampy.... tomorrow I work at WW, have a meeting with Career Development and then I have to give a tour. I also have to find time to pull slides for class on Saturday. I wish I could stay up for seven more hours and not require any sleep, then maybe I could feel "caught up". I suppose I can rest on December 15th. That's the day I fly home to Seattle for my Christmas break.

Man, I feel like a woman...

And not in a good way this morning. I won't get into it though... let's just say my heating pad is my friend.

My computer is having some issues with the display. It keeps getting all wonky and I'm afraid it's just a short time before it goes to the big computer graveyard in the sky. I suppose I could take it in and get it checked out, but I can't afford to get anything fixed. argh...

Hilary sent me a new picture of katie today (or yesterday, but my display wasn't working last night)...

Okay, I better go, I have a bunch to do today. More later if my computer will let me.

Lucky Day.

Today I found 53 cents... I think that's a record. Okay maybe not a record but close. I used to have a lot more to talk about when I had a lot more time on my hands. Now it seems that once I sit down the brain goes dead.

I have so much stuff to work on I'm having a hard time keeping track of everything... well, I guess I can sleep in 7 weeks... then I'll get to see my favorite dog in the world (and my favorite family).

Today I forked over the money for my airplane ticket... I guess I'm really going to Italy again. yay. I'll have to plan my gelato tour.... I'll be posting many pictures once I get back.

Well, I suppose it's time to do some work... or sleep.

Contemplation

This morning I am feeling a bit contemplative - I don't know why, but I just am. (maybe it's because I am on the downhill stroll to 40 and I think it's time to reflect.) What exactly do I want to reflect on?? I think life and love and the cost of getting a good cup of coffee. Oh, I don't know... Maybe I'll just reflect internally for now.

How many dogs does it take

to screw in a lightbulb? None, dogs don't have opposable thumbs and they can't use ladders so what's the point?

Today has been fairly busy, I went to give a tour and there was no one signed up so I went back to the studio and worked.

Tonight I got a call to see if I could work a WW meeting tomorrow night - thank goodness I have a VCR so I can tape my shows... okay, I just checked and there's nothing good on.

I don't have much more to say - I'll be back later.

Day off.

Today I didn't have any commitments. It was nice for a change.
I started off by reading the paper and watching the news. I then got ready and walked to Target to get vitamins and ibuprofen.

As I was shopping I got the urge to bake, so I decided to get stuff to bake cookies. I know I shouldn't do this sort of thing when it is a proven fact that I have no self control when it comes to food. I guess I'll have to take my chances... I've only baked about half and I've frozen about half of them.

I walked past the official end of the Chicago Marathon.... And I took photo's of the two women who were walking after the end car...

Watching them almost made me want to run a marathon... Who knows, maybe once I find a chiropractor and get back on the exercise bandwagon I'll start training.... Who am I kidding! well, you never know.

I should be working on my artist statement...

but I'm not.

I have a meeting on Friday which I need to go over it....

If I were truly dedicated I would be prepared.

Oye.

I've come to the conclusion that I am not a good blogger. I seem to have a hard time thinking of things to write about.

What I can write about is this cute dog (Ginger) on the news right now. She is a dalmation. I really miss Stinky... I made a fake Tucker last year as a substitute for her (it worked pretty well) but no one can take her place.

Tomorrow I finally have a day off. It's been so long - I'd have to go back and check... okay I just checked, It's been five weeks since I've had a day when I didn't have to do anything. I will probably go work in the studio for a while, it's been at least a week since I've spent any quality time in there.

Well, I better get along. I've got places to be.

Friday Morning.

Hey, FYI Barry Manilow is playing in town this weekend, as is James Taylor and don't forget the Chicago Marathon on Sunday.... Speaking of marathons, I haven't gone running recently (okay I haven't gone at all!) but I must admit I haven't had the time. I'd explain more but I have to hose myself off in order to get to work on time.

Oh, I also found out yesterday that I finally got my check for my damaged suitcase when I traveled home a few months ago. Search the blog for "stinky bags" and you'll find a nice picture... I think.

More later.

Ciao Firenze!

So, I have committed myself to traveling to Florence in January for two and a half weeks. Ah, the thought of being warm in Italy as opposed to being a popsicle in Chicago!

I am taking a course on Gallileo's Renaissance... It's all about the connection between Art, Science and Music. I also plan on doing a photographic essay on gelato while I'm there as well.

Things have been busy (as always). I think back to the same time last year and I realize how far I have come. From being in a funk over life to being almost too busy to have time to worry about anything at all.

Tomorrow I have to work and then my friend Sam is giving a lecture on his work. Tomorrow night there are some openings that I think I will go to. I'll give a review later.

Ciao for now! A domani!

Let me see...

So, it feels like I haven't done anything today but that's not true. I've worked on my floorplan (foot traffic) plan... bought my momma a birthday card and sent it. I went to a lecture and am going to go to Project Runway night. So I guess that means I should get back to my work so I can go without feeling guilty.

Ciao.

My project is done!

I made these t-shirts that members of our class got to put down what they "heart"-ed. We then went on a filed trip to Where the Buffalo Roam ( a t-shirt store on Michigan) and checked out the merchandise.

I left one of my blank t-shirts in their bins.

This is Karolina sporting her new look.

I'll post more later...
xoxo

LOU!

Today the Chicago Cubs are going to announce that Lou Piniella will take over as manager of the club. What a wise move, I remember fondly the days back in Seattle when he managed the Mariners.

There's also talk of Alex Rodriguez coming over from the Yankees in a trade. Well I guess you can't have everything.... A-Rod sucks. I guess I'm one of those bitter fans who can't get over the fact that while he was in Seattle he always said he was a francise player, but then Texas started dangling the cash-ola out in front of him and he said he wanted to play for a winning team and it wasn't about the money (what a bum!). No matter how well he plays or how cute he is, he's still a bum.

On another note, Fannie May is opening up three new stores in the Chicago area. Have I told you about the free samples they give out at Fannie May? Unlike See's Candy (west coast candy store) where they just hand you a sample, Fannie May puts out a whole tray of the samples where you can take as many as you'd like. On a good day I can grab three. It's making me hungry just thinking about it.

It's a Miracle!

I finally did laundry tonight! Can I get a hallelujah? Okay, so I've got some things off my to do list but I still have more.

Last night I ended up going to bed at 9 and sleeping until 7 this morning (that's ten hours for those of you counting). Tomorrow I am doing my public art project - I should probably put together some sort of Powerpoint presentation to preface the work but I think that might a little too much to ask from myself.

Thursday I am going to register for the study trip to Florence! Italia - here I come!

Well, I guess I should probably work on my exhibition process class work while I'm still awake (it's 10 and I'm not dozing off!).

Damn that Extreme Makeover Home Edition.....

It always makes me cry.

So, I'm sitting here on the futon (where else???) and I broke my record - I was in my pj's by 6:30 tonight! I was going to do laundry but when I was going to check to see if there were any free washers a cute boy came down with his sheets. Oh well, I guess if I can wait three weeks, what's one more day in dirty clothes.

Still no wifi, no dates, no cleaning of the apartment... maybe tomorrow.

Saturday, October 14, 2006

Same news different day.

Still tired, too much to do, need to do laundry but can't get off the futon.

Friday, October 13, 2006

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Too much to do, too little time. Today I worked, went to a lecture, went to the museum (go see the Charles Sheeler show if you're in Chicago), and then came home and took a bath. I've been sitting on the futon for the past two hours in my PJ's.

I did happen to join CAA tonight (that's the College Art Association for those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about..).

Tomorrow I work - we are having midterm critiques for class. I hope I don't make anyone cry. Now I think I might go to bed. I know it's only 9:11 but I should sleep when I need to.

Oh, I took some photos in my studio today, I think they'll be nice. I'll post some later when I'm in a wifi area.

Is Grad School over yet?

I'm about ready for things to slow down but I don't think they are going to anytime soon.

My tour/presentation went fairly well, now I just have to type up my report. It's cold outside (38 degrees!) and I'm tired but I need to watch the Office and then I can go to bed.

sometime soon I need to color my hair.....

Holy Crap!

I have to give my presentation today and I don't feel anywhere near prepared. I went and saw the show, took notes, drew a floorplan and still I don't think I'll be able to talk about the exhibit. I'll get there early and take more notes. I'm just not sure how to organize the presentation. So I guess that means I better quit typing and get to organizing.

Keep warm today, it's chilly!

Wednesday, October 11, 2006

Did you miss me?

I realize that you all probably thought something had happened to me... I didn't post this morning. Well, let me tell you, I have been stinking busy! It seems like I get one thing done and then another one comes up... Tomorrow I have to give my tour/presentation to my Exhibition Process class. I was going to go back today to take more notes but I ran out of time.

The weather today is downright chilly. It's supposed to freeze tonight... I have to get some more pants. I guess you're wondering why I need more pants... All of mine are too big and I need some to wear to work at WW that fit (but not too big!) I could wear two pairs of my pants if I wanted to. Right now it's 40 degrees... brrr.

Hmmm.... bacon sounds good right now.

Rotisere Chicken, How do I love thee? Part Deux.

Okay, so if you hadn't guessed it I bought a rotisere chicken again. This time it was from the Potash Brothers supermarket and it was BBQ flavor. Pretty good, but not as good as Fred Meyer's Greek Herb. It was only $5.99 so the price was alright.

On a good note, today I got a notice for my printer cartridges... I can go pick the up at the post office tomorrow. There have been a few notices put up around the building about missing packages. I bet you mine was either lost or stolen the first time around.

Now only if my wifi would come back.

On the Prowl.

Now I can't be sure but I think this is Julie B's cat Miucca. If it isn't it's a neighbor cat.

This morning I slept in until 8:00. I know I have to appreciate sleeping in while I can because I won't be able to do it forever. I am sitting here with the heating pad this morning trying to make my back feel better. Maybe I'll lie on my yoga matt later on and try to stretch out things.

I'm not feeling particularly talkative today so maybe I'll just go.

Monday, October 09, 2006

I am woman!

Today has turned out to be pretty good. Not that I expected it to be bad, but you never know. First of all I had a good advising session and decided to take some of my work out of the studio and put it into the critique space for a different view.

Later I gave my tour and got a few comment cards back from people who had taken my tour... All I can say is that I am going to send the cards to my mom so she can put them on the fridge!

This afternoon I finished up my project for my Text off the Page class so I'm feeling pretty good about that. Other things on my list are finishing up my review/tour I have to give on Thursday for my Exhibition Process class and then working on my final project for that class as well. Oh yeah, and then I have to work on my artist statement for a meeting I'm having on Wednesday.

Hmmm. I wonder what I could rant about this evening. I am still without free wifi and did I ever tell you about my missing printer cartridges? The post office lost them... I ordered them over a month ago and they just disappeared. They are re-sending them so hopefully I will get them and I can start printing out photos again. All I can say is that the US Postal Service (home delivery in my area) sucks the big wean!

Pain killers please.

Hopefully once I get moving this morning I'll feel a bit better, but right now my lower back is killing me. I'm thinking maybe I should start doing some tummy toning exercises to help strengthen my core. I know that would help... now if I could just get off my butt and do something.

Sunday, October 08, 2006

Same old story.

My body still hurts but I am happy to report that I am not as cranky as I have been.

Today I worked my butt off at WW... there were a bunch of new members and a lot of product sales. I then went to the school and did what needed to be done... I'm feeling better about things.

Now I am vegetating like I said I would....

Google-i-tation

The Results of my Google experiment with Karolina's name was a success. Her name finally showed up this morning (or maybe yesterday because I didn't check). Anyway, it worked. If anyone out there would like me to repeat the exercise with their name let me know. I like to be a promoter of people.

Today I am working a WW meeting at 11:00, then I plan out letting Julie B's cat back in (her name is Miucca, after Miucca Prada) and then its off to the studio to work on a project for Text off the Page. Tonight I'm going to vegetate on the futon and watch Desperate Housewives and maybe a movie.

Last night Karolina and I went to a party at Mr. Codey's house. It reminded me a lot of parties I didn't go to in High School (get out the beer bong!)... A guy named Steve told me I smelled nice. I said thank you.... It was one of my Lush samples. It's called Karma cream.

Another thing about wifi... I still miss it and this dial up is really slow. I guess we can't always get what we want.

Molly and Jason are married!

Since I worked yesterday morning I didn't get to watch Molly and Jason tie the knot on the Today show so I'm watching it this morning.

Man, I am a crier. I just want to know where they're going on their honeymoon.... IT'S NEW ZEALAND! That's what I voted for and it won! At last something good in my life!

Today in class (my TA job) we are working on midterm projects. I hope I'm not dead weight.

Friday, October 06, 2006

Only slightly better...

I'm still without wifi, and I'm feeling as big as a house, but what else is new?

I've worked in the studio today and worked at WW this morning... I think I might be working the Friday morning meeting regularly as well.

This evening I am going to the Faculty sabbatical Show opening.... Then I am going to go home and cry a bit. I feel the need to let the waterworks go - so I picked out a few movies at the Library... hopefully they'll do the trick.

This week I am ready to be done with school. Maybe it's because I'm not looking forward to winter and being cold again. Maybe I'm bipolar??? See It Hurts to be Horizontal for more information re: this topic.

Molly and Jason got married on the Today show this morning, I taped it to watch later....

Thursday, October 05, 2006

The crankiness continues...

Still in a semi-foul mood. I hope it gets better soon, because I don't like it when I'm cranky. I'm feeling large and in charge, unattractive and slug-like.

The only bright thing in my life is that I got to talk to my momma yesterday and she said that Stinky is doing fine. Lost was excellent last night, I also watched The Nine which was good as well. Those Sallinger boys from Party of Five (Matthew Fox and Scott Wolf!). Hubba Hubba!

Wednesday, October 04, 2006

Still Cranky!

It's amazing what a lack of wifi, missing a deadline and having to watch everything you eat will do for ones mood. Maybe I should take up boxing and get some of my aggression out. I hope my mood gets better - on the bright side, the season premiere of Lost is on tonight. Maybe that will cheer me up.

Tuesday, October 03, 2006

Crap!

I was doing so well today... Then I come to find out that I thought I had emailed a copy of my assignment for my Exhibition Process class in but it wasn't received. I'm one of those people who is ultra-prepared so when something is out of whack it throws me off.

Additionally when I got home I found out that my wifi is gone. Maybe my ex neighbor was good for more than keeping me entertained.

The Bachelor Rome!

Tonight is the season premiere if the Bachelor Rome... Most of the other bachelors have not worked out and I don't expect this to be any different.. what I am looking forward to is seeing Rome.

I turned in a form today to apply for financial aid to take a study trip to Florence this winter. I hope I can work everything out so I can go again (to Italy). I could practice my Italian and meet a nice Italian Uomo (man).

Today Karolina and I stopped by the admissions office and talked to DS and NS. We talked about Googling our own names and I said that I would mention Karolina Gnatowski"s name in full so that hopefully she would come up when her name was Googled. I sure hope that made sense... it made sense to me, but I know what I'm talking about. I'll try it out and let you know.

Woe is me...

I just couldn't bear to watch my poor Seahawks last night... enough said.

Did I mention that I went running yesterday? Well, okay most of it was walking, but I did run for a few minutes in the middle. It reminded me how out of shape I have become and how much I miss exercising. (yes, I can't believe those words came out of my mouth either...). Back in Seattle I belonged to a Gym (I miss you Mieko's!) and wish I could join one here in Chicago but it is expensive!

Here's a list of things I would buy if money was not a factor.
Gym Membership
Personal Chef
Cable Television
Button maker
Big Ass condo
Italian Villa
Massage
New laptop
Chiropractic visits
Lush bath products
Station Wagon
ipod (mine is dying)

I'm being Saved.

As I sit here typing I can hear a gentleman outside my window prostheletising. I'm not exactly sure what he's saying but I've heard him talking about Jesus. Maybe this is a sign that I should go to church today. It's been a while and I do find that I like church, I just haven't gotten around to it.

Now that I have running shoes I guess I should go run this morning.... really... I could run along Lake Michigan and see the cute puppy dogs that are out for their walks.

DJ (my neighbor dog) just barked his way down the hallway... he's a sprite little guy.

This is not a picture of DJ but I thought it was cute so I posted it.
