I don't think it's going to happen.

I've realized that I'm not ready to cycle at 5:45 in the morning. I could if I had time to get back home and get ready for work... but considering that I have to be at work at 8 and it takes time to look respectable for the public... it's just not going to happen anytime soon.

Anyways my knee could use the rest. It's feeling better but not 100 percent.

Today is my momma's Birthday. She's the best mom in the world... who else would have honked their car horn all the way down the street when she knew I was home alone with my boyfriend? No one... there are other things she's done for me that I won't go into here. she's swell... tonight we're going to Black Angus for dinner to celebrate.

No weird dreams last night... that's too bad. I miss Tim.

Hair is done... (I got it primped last night...) it's a bit lighter than normal. That's alright... maybe it will make me look younger. I don't know...

they're calling for black ice... I guess I should break out the long underwear... I hate being cold. Well - I guess I should go. Since I don't have my butt on a bicycle seat I guess I should do something...

I forgot to post yesterday.

Melissa and the boys spent the night on Saturday so we had two little people running around yesterday morning (my usual posting time).

Let's see... what to tell you. Yesterday I went to lecture of Patti Warashina at Bellevue Community College and then I did a little retail therapy at Bellevue Square (not a lot but enough). I bought some more long underwear. You might be asking yourself why I need long underwear if I'm no longer living in Chicago. It's because I am cold ALL THE TIME (Okay, I'm not cold right now).... but as the day wears on I'm usually a bit chilly. Now's the time when winter items go on sale so I was all over it.

I had dinner last night with my other lovely sister Hilary, Grant, Katie and Ken (he's a friend of ours)... we had steak. hmmm... steak.

Today I am going to finish up my GAP Application. I've been slacking too long. It's due on Friday so if I can put it all together today and get it mailed in tomorrow I'll be ahead of the curve.

Payday part deaux.

I get money today! I have over eleven hours of overtime so I'm psyched. I will pay a big chunk of my visa bill, I'll try to give some to my momma for bills and I am going to set some aside for either my student loan payment or my income tax payment.

I'm thinking I'll have to pay taxes this year because It was crazy - I think I counted at least 5 w2's and over 7 statements of interest paid on student loans. I also received some money while I was in New York that I'll have to pay taxes on... For the first time ever I am having someone else do my taxes. Hopefully my life will be more normal this year and I can do it via the internet for free next year.

My cold seems to be getting better, my head hurts a bit but that's it. I'm not sick enough not to go to work.

I think that's it for now - this morning I need to call 4culture and get the details on the whole show thing.

Payday!

Good news, I get paid today. Then I promptly have to pay some bills.

Now if I would only get paid for National Portfolio Day. Now you're probably saying to yourself "she hasn't been paid for that yet?"... that would be correct! It's been almost four months and I still haven't been paid. You know that money could have been earning interest in my savings account. Maybe I'll harass people about it today.

We've been experiencing a cold snap here in Seattle. It's not anything near the weather in Chicago but it's still cold. In Chicago I could bundle up and look like a weirdo and it was alright. Not so much here. I need some warmer clothes... let me revise that, warmer, more fashionable clothes.

I better get a move on and look for those warmer clothes...

Brrr....

It's 40 degrees outside and I'm not looking forward to bundling up to go outside. I don't have my wool coat yet. Luckily I have my under armour cold gear that I can wear (and my boots that are warm on the inside)..

I got word that I will be able to have a show in Chicago in September. That should give me enough time to get things in order (money, work etc...).

I did go to see Dan in Real Life yesterday - I liked it better than Wristcutters because it was straightforward. Not that wristcutters was bad mind you. But who doesn't like a romantic comedy?

It's too stinking cold to run.

But I'm going to do it anyway. It's only 28 degrees outside. Brrr. I guess this will be good training for those endurance challenges if I'm ever a contestant on Survivor.

Okay, I can only sit here for a few more minutes and then I have to get ready.

Happy St. Patrick's Day by the way. I forgot to tell you that I got pretty good feedback on the paper I wrote. As always I am my own worst critic... I'm glad that's over... now I can focus on MFA stuff and life after school.

Can anyone give me a job? Preferably teaching in Seattle somewhere?

So I got to the Today show a little late and I didn't make it on camera... actually there were only a few people watching (it's stinking cold...). but I managed to get a few shots of Ann and the gang. the first shot is of the gang playing poker and the the other is of Matt Lauer eating some of the food leftover from the cooking segment on the Chinese New Year.

After standing around for about 45 minutes I was too cold to stay outside so I went to the NBC Experience store where I bought memorabilia from the Today show and The Office.

Okay so I accidentally posted this to my Horizontal blog but that's okay... I'm so happy I'll post it twice.

Once again I posted last night but then my computer froze up so I couldn't actually publish it.

For a rundown on what it said, I worked, advised, went to a mock interview and then I went to class. I tried to buy coffee yesterday but the pipes had frozen at Intelligentsia so I couldn't get it. I am drinking some coffee right now that's been in my refigerator for over a year (Trader Joe's) it's not too bad.

It's still cold.. supposed to climb into the low teens. I mentioned in the non post about it snowing yesterday so it wasn't as cold as the previous day but it was treacherous (in Seattle/Jim Foreman terminology not Chicago/Ellie Pai Hong treacherous).

Today I am giving a special tour at school... I can use the money because of the root canal... I'm going to work on my resume for a triage session for CAA which is being held this afternoon. I should work on my research paper at some point too... the clock is ticking and I'm going to run out of time...

That's it.

The icy build up on my heart and windowsill.

OkayI really don't have icy buildup on my heart but my windows are a different story. It's on the inside and it's getting thick.

Today is my long day... I'm working a WW meeting and then I have advising. I was supposed to work on my teaching resume but I've kind of slacked on that. I blame it all on the tooth. Then this afternoon there is a mock interview session for CAA and then I have class. I woke up once at a quarter to five this morning but managed to go back to sleep for a while. Now I just want to stay here on the futon and not go anywhere.

Maybe I do have icy buildup on my heart... I'll have to think about that one.

I had a good time at the party though. Karolina made the best hotwings ever and there were also Lovie Smith and Mike Ditka cupcakes. There was also pizza, potato skins and other yummies. I'm not even getting on the scale today.

Can we talk about the weather? You know it's cold when there is ice buildup on the inside of your window ledge.

Feeling Better...

I am happy to report that I woke up this morning without a toothache. I now have a little bit of a headache but that might be from general stress.

Today it is FREEZING! Okay, it's less than freezing... with windchill below zero. I can see the steam coming off my cup of coffee on the window sill, and the coffee's not that hot.

I went shopping this morning for bread for my chipped beef boat . It's this dip that you put in a bread bowl... and it's low fat (NOT)... okay I take that back I'm going to make it lower fat than it usually is, but not that much lower. I'm taking it to a Superbowl party tomorrow. Go Seahawks... oh yeah that's right... they lost didn't they?

I have a party to go to tonight... and I should work on my paper from my Italy trip... or maybe I should take a nap.
